FCS,
Here is a quote from a guy in group, on another forum, that may help you out.
"As long as you pull your weight, Do your job well I don't care SF Baby, 18X or whatever the hell. I had an SF Baby on my first team and he was the best of the SF babies in the company. OTOH, we had SF babies losing weapons (weapons guy), crypto etc. I have also had Paper Tabbers show up just before DS/DS. Its what you do. Now, you will pull some ****ty details (As if we all didn't do it) and take some ****, but everyone takes ****, its how we test your metal and being an SF baby is an easy scab to pick at.
Its the man that makes the voyage and the means with which he made it, not the path that he takes. As long as he gets to the desired end point, that's what counts."

The fundamental problem with lots of you guys is that you assume the schools someone has been to is an effective gauge of their measure as a soldier.
RIP,ranger, sniper, SF selection blah blah who ****ing cares all that means is that someone is good at doing schools.
New guys in particular seem to get dazzled by all kinds of bull**** name dropping and actually think "combat patches" mean anything (BTW there is no such thing as a combat patch)
Just like how having an MA or PHD doesn't necessarily mean you are a genius.

This is False.
Me being in Ranger Bat and rocking my scrolls means I'm muuch better than you.
On a side note. Does ANYone need side plates? : / I've come across lots of stuff while clearing cif, that I honestly have no idea what to do with. lmk

You've always been in batt right? Or did you go to RIP later on in your career somehow?

Always been in batt. Also
Reading up on earlier post.
18x's had a really high selection rate in my sfas class. But a lot of them won't make it through the Q based on that they have zero military knowledge.
Seems like Duffek has a pretty good view on everything. Most of his **** is correct at least.

Plates are an item you never get rid of just in case you need them somewhere down the line. I have a set from when I got out to include a MICH.
Edit. I'm like a 24 y/r Gandhi.

Being from batt I was in pretty good shape, but the 18x's were amazing. Their whole career so far has been basic, airborne, and sopc. All through sopc they are just running , rucking, and doing land nav. The guys were honestly studs. I think they should send them to ranger school after selection before going to Q. Just my opinion though
