west coast b.c events

here are a few for you b.c. 'ballers checking to see what's up:

vancouver island:

april 03 @ c.i.p. in nanaimo: Island United - 100 'ballers with their own gear. lotsa bushball, sup'air hella cheap: $10 ff incl. 4500 all day plus only $10 per bag/500 balls.

april 17th @ c.i.p. in nanaimo: Island Cup - 5-player teams competing in this 3-scenario event. low entry and paint - new tippman markers for 1st 2nd AND 3rd. trophies. lotsa fun!

april 24th @ tswassen paintball games in vancouver - run 4 the guns - sponsored by the BCPA. 5-player speedball. win guns! play with the top competitive teams in b.c. www.paintballevents.ca for info.

i'm sorry my good friend, but i don't think we can actually 'move' some1's birthday. as 4 the scenario game, you'd have to ask chris.

meh, different demograph neways. but nice to see panther doing the scenario games, that field with those crazy big trees is sick!

um. no. that's the cppl. no info. but there are 5(!) bcpa events here in the lower mainland this year so it should b pretty sweet!

Ipl Event 1 is this coming weekend at Bushwackers in Vernon. Any coast teams up for a road trip? Cheap entry and open div is xball this year.

and i was meaning to go public apologizing about that very thing.... it was certainly an oversight on our part; our original date for E1 was changed to accomodate the large number of b.c. teams attending 'huntington beach' - when we came up with a back-up date we failed to ensure there was no conflict. the suggested saturday adjustment would have eliminated teams already committed to that sunday date so we chose the lessor of two bad situations.

not having panther a part of the initial bcpa 'run for the guns' event did hurt as panther and their teams are such a huge part of b.c's paintball community. same goes with the program out of ambush paintball in surrey; the ambush army. until b.c. has every1 on board, 'provincial' achievements will always need an asterisk (*).

but now is our collective window of opportunity. we will ensure dates aren't conflicting in the future and we appreciate that it is the intentions of panther teams to support a legitimate provincial push. (i believe event 2 has been slated for panther in langley may 22nd). also, nic (ambush) has contacted the bcpa hoping to attend E2 and i believe they are slated to host E4; sniperz are fully in (with up to 8 teams out of the jedi academy); TPG has revived it's once very competitive program with a 2nd place showing by 'gridlock' in the open division. and let's not forget the island; there were 8 5-player teams at last weekend's 'island cup' - 7 of which were div. 4's. so lotsa new growth there out of central island paintball.

if you include tpg in tswassen, ambush in surrey, panther in langley, sniperz in chilliwack, and c.i.p from the island - you've got the potential of a very competitive, very inclusive program.

i should throw a shout out to the efforts being made in officiating; dave (southpark) of 'war party' fame (now of provincial 'head ref' status) has agreed to come on board and raise the reffing level by hosting ref clinics and by training-up non-partisan referee's. we were complimented by many players at the last event and yes - there very well may be a corps of provincial refs who will eliminate any doubts of fairness.

so the pieces are in place, we have a year of growth behind us and we are really looking forward to the b.c.p.a's R4TG E2!

- man i'd love to hit up vernon for this! (interior paintball league) - the last one we went to (as ravenous) we had a great time! (that one was in the summer and it was 90 degrees in the tent by 6 am!) fun times.

I remember that event. I think we played you guys in the consolation finals. Luckily, it's not as hot in early May....usually it's around 20 degrees this time of year...perfect paintball weather.

Actually, I did talk to Chris about it and emailed him asking for confirmation, but didn't hear back.
