Reffing .50 Cal
Anybody else have troubles with 50 cal? I referee a field that offers .68 and .50, but 50's play against 50's and 68's play against 68's.
.68 Cal has a MUCH larger hit area, so it's easy to tell if someone's hit.
However, with the .50 cal we have, it's getting pretty hard to tell if someone's rubbing into a bunker or getting hit.

And the reason why airsoft is a joke.
If I can't tell if a .68 cal paintball hits me while I'm sliding or running...then I sure as heck am not gonna feel a .50 cal paintball. And if I can't feel the .50 cal, how am I gonna feel that tiny little speck from an airsoft gun? Might as well play laser tag.

I'm sure you would be able to feel .50 paintball hit you too if you cranked the velocity up high enough as well, still doesn't make it safe

It's sad that you think the 50 cal forums are just for topics that support 50 cal paintball

Hey, at least somebody is posting in the .50cal forum.
Don't get too upset, compared to pumps, Speedball vs. Woodsball, Airsoft, and the Brass Eagle forum... .50cal gets off pretty easy.

i was actually wondering what the implications of the smaller ball/less fill .50cal paint and how it would affect the abilities of already overworked/stressed out/overheated reffing staff to do their jobs. its unfortunate to hear that it is making a ******, unappreciated, underpaid job even more difficult to do

I fail to see how reffing a field, an entry level job is underpaid.

Depends on the paygrade bro. Some fields give you half a case of paint. Some pay 9/hr

the field here is 10-12$ an hour, takes no education, no training seriously, and to show up, sure you get shot by renters time to time, but its part of the job.. There are FAR worse jobs at entry level to do. The ones complain about under paid have probably never worked in a fast food joint where your being yelled at and cleaning PUBLIC toilets for 9.50$ an hour.
Refs have it easy, i do it for free..
