Share Your Post Production Walk-Through
I don't know if people will like this or not, but I would enjoy seeing everyone's progress they make from the original photo, through post production, to the end piece.
For many of my images I see the end result in my head and know what steps I can take in post to get to the finished piece.
Original. 30 second exposure, painting bike with speedlight shooting through a softbox
Took background data from another shot to get the details behind the original's unwanted flash marks
Added contrast to the garage door and independently lit the tires to separate them from background
Final. Brightened sky and adjusted color.

^pffft who gives themselves 5 stars? It's all about the 2 stars!
When shooting for the newswire
download code replacement depending on what team I am shooting
make game day folder
put important stuff in there
import photos into LR2
go through them, rate the good ones a 2
go back through, should be 20-30 ones rated 2, delete extras and ones that aren't that special or duplicates
edit them lightly, crop, contrast a tad, colors a tad if needed,
export to game day file
open images in photo mechanic
import code replacement
import suggested XMP info
replace whats needed in the standard xmp form
copy metadata
caption images/past metadata
upload via ftp to Southcreeks site
last one outta stadium woohooo!
When editing images for myself
import images
go through, rate the good ones a 2, and edit them after rating
edit, generally exposure, contrast, colors, maybe some burning and dodging, recovery, just standard stuff nothing too extreme
Add some metadata and captions if I know the photos are getting passed around and I remember (already has the copyright stuff from my camera)
export using a cool file name
then upload to smugmug
simple!

Mine is about the same as Jimmy.
1. Import
2. Go through and pick my favorites by flagging them (LR3)
3. Delete unflagged ones
4. Pass through again and unflag ones I don't really like.
5. Edit the image for what I want. Sometimes I start out with a pre-set and tweak it. Then copy that pre-set to others in that specific set and tweak them to look the same.
6. Export
7. Then go back and do B&W or special processing on a couple more that it will work with.
8. export
9. Upload to Zenfolio.
10. Pick out a couple solid ones to watermark and send to FB.
11. Send link to client of the session with relevant information to order/download.

This thread kinda took a curve towards everyones standard processing worklflow. I was more interested in before and after photos showing the steps you took to achieve the final results for specific photos.

I'm away from my editing computer a lot during the day and by the time I get home I don't want to do it. LOL
Maybe I'll put one up and talk about the steps sometime soon.
