Focus on non-physical skills.
Field knowledge(angles, blind shots, dorito/snake opportunities)
Most importantly. Ask questions. Short, to the point questions. An ask people that will answer you without being dicks about it. If you get known as a kid that legitimately wants to learn the sport, you'll stick out amongst the thousands of kids who just wanna pretend they're as good as their gear, and people will want to help you out.
Always listen and take everything with a grain of salt. Never contradict someone that's giving you advice even if it's bull**** and you know it.
