flying and gearbag fees

Has anyone who has already flown this season had to pay an extra fee for their gearbag being oversized even if it was under 50 lbs?

I got my check in call today and it stated bags could be both no more than 50 lbs, and no more than 62 inches in size, which is measured length plus width plus depth.

This obviously makes gearbags way too big, and I was wanting to know if you guys have had to pay fees.

American airlines charge $35 I believe for the first checked luggage and it can not be over 50lbs. My planet eclipse gearbag and all that of my teammates last year didnt have one problem

I know that was true in past seasons, but I checked a few airlines today, and they all have that 62 inch rule listed. I was wondering if they actually follow it.

Josh, you should be fine. I have the mega size empire gear bag and haven't had any issues. Best thing to do is not to mention the word paintball or gun or anything of the sort. See you in HB gurrrrlll!
