No one has bought any paint for next season yet. I imagine most people own the guns they will be using next season already. Not to mention a lot of people don't use new guns anymore, so the value to manufacturers of dictating which used guns people can use is pretty minimal.

There's also an enforcement issue - pretty easy for us to enforce paint manufacturer restrictions. Either FPO events use the appropriate paint, or they don't, and pretty much all of our BYOP events are season entry Class A teams so we have good enforcement mechanisms there.

I'm willing to "finance" the NCPA - I have on several occasions loaned my personal money to the league (at 0% interest) when there's a cash flow issue (usually around Nationals when we spend a whole bunch of money at once and don't necessarily get all our entry fee/sponsor revenue until after the event). But I'm not willing, in addition to all of the time I donate, to fork over $10k or more to keep the league running.

So, the option is, we operate in the black, or there is no more NCPA.

It does not seem unreasonable to me that after generating hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in revenue for the industry that the industry can't come up with $15k to help support the league.

I doubt this will effect players at all. All the manufacturers have marketing budgets and the cost to participate is a very small fraction of it tied with a much larger financial benefit to the manufacturer. This just provides an incentive for manufacturers to provide the same support to NCPA that they do to other leagues.

And more money not from the players is ultimately less money we need from the players.

edit: Forgot:

4) Someone else makes up for the difference between NCPA revenue and expenses. If you would like to volunteer, the NCPA address is on our website; make the $15k check out to NCPA Inc.

Thanks for the response, makes more sense now. Unfortunately I dont have that kind of money to throw around but if/when I do I would help out.
