My Australian Shepherd puppy (needs a name)
Well, long story short she was a couple weeks away from her euthanasia date. I did not plan to get a dog, none the less a puppy under a year and a female. However, these things changed when I saw her.
She was born January 3rd, 2011 and is an Australian Shepherd. We (my fiance and I) adopted her from one of the local animal shelters. She is being altered and microchipped on Thursday of this coming week. We are allowed to bring her home then.
Anyways, I need help with a name! Any suggestions?
Of course, the pictures. She is a hard bugger to get a picture of.

Thanks. I have always had the best luck with rescues.
My parents got 2 purebred airedales from shelters in NJ (we lived on McGuire), a wire fox terrier in San Antonio (we lived on Lackland), and a cat in Anchorage (we lived on elmendorf).
This girl had sarcoptic mange (I probably spelled it wrong), but the shelter vet said she has made a full recovery and has had no permanent damage to her skin
I cant wait to bring her home!!
Turkleton? Odd
Frying Pan recommended Derp and I branched off to Derpette. I don't quite like that one lol

In all honesty, I think that first post had a good name. Stella. Seems like a Stella to me.

1st off- You did a great thing, male or female. I miss our dog but nobody hom anymore (2 college kids and 2 working parents)
2nd- AWWW SO CUTE
3rd- Stick with a 1 synonym name, dogs react to them better. For a Shepard I like: Zoe, Irene, Sadie, Nina.

Thanks. I feel a lot better knowing she wont get put down for no reason.
I think Sydney would work because it shortens to Sid pretty well.
Other dog/cat names I've used include Buster, Griffon, Gracie, Gabie, Bailey, Porter, and Oliver. All of those, minus Bailey, were really good at responding to their name.
It was funny, she would sit at the back of her cage and not come up for anybody but me or my fiance.

Actually, the "experts" say a two syllabel name works best, especially one ending with a long e sound. I don't stick to that, tho. I've had dogs named Helga, Rags, Jethro and Heineken who all responded to their names equally as well as the one named Mickey (short for Michelob). Our current dog is Caleb- no issues there, either.
