help me car heads
Range $50k - $55k MAX, no passing the budget line
I was thinking of buying a used to save me more money and perhaps dish out some of the side money and buy new rims and small upgrades. IF I were to buy used, i would most likely buy something that has > 10k mileage. I am into foreigns, this means no American cars unless you can persuade me that American cars can do better than going straight. I will be using this car as a day to day and maybe take it to the track if i'm feeling good.
The list
-BMW M3 (e92, maybe the e90, monster car)
-Audi RS4 / S4? Depending on price of the year i was thinking sometime between 05-08 (lots of speculation about this car, i heard it can cause some problems in the long run? Idk someone reassure me with this rumor
-Audi S5 (You already know this car is a beast caged within an engine, plus cannot deny it's sexy look)
-Lexus ISF?
-Chrysler La Baron

Thanks for reassuring me, that was my initial choice in the first place, rs5 ain't a sedan btw, but from what ive heard, if i were to buy the s5, i might as wait for the rs5. Going out to test drive these cars in a couple days.

you said RS4, which is a sedan. Not RS5, which is a coupe you can't afford.
RS4 is still the best choice. My friend traded his E92 for an RS4 and is extremely happy with the switch. He's also the most hardcore BMW person I know. Possibly ever, but that's more like, an opinion man.

rs5 is pointless. watch top gear s16e5
anyway, i'd say: if coupe, m3; if sedan, rs4

reasoning with jp is pointless.
rs5 is sick car, but it is definitely out of your range.
if your looking for something just ridiculous, get a c6 z06. one can be had in your range and WILL dominate anything else you could buy in that price range

Range...would prefer to keep it under 30k. The cheaper, the faster I can get it. I would like to mod it a bit too.
I sold my 03 Acura RSX a year ago, some of you may remember seeing pictures of it. Anyhow, went out and bought a 07 Chevy Avalanche which I am using as a promo truck for work, its getting a full vinyl wrap. So having something on the side would be awesome.
Want something manual, RWD or AWD, convertible might be fun too.
Let me know your thoughts.

Looking to get a.... utility car, and came across the vw pickup in autoshop (like '84 I think)
I believe it's a VW rabbit, it's diesel, and I have now restored it. My teacher says I'll need to "donate" (teehee) about $2600 to take it off his hands.
This thing runs well, can go well over 60mph, and has some serious torque and fuel economy. suspension is kinda ehh, but it'll be replaced with something good and professionally tuned (and not lifted) after I buy it.
so, worth or not?

wanna drive to washington home slice?
edit:
yelosno - its essentially just a mk1 VW with a bed on there. if you want to make use of the bed and haul anything more than a bag of packing peanuts, you'll want to get a beefier suspension. lots of people like helper bags so they can do the whole rubbin and dubbin thing when they are at meets or shows.
those older VW diesels can be ornery little motors but they get decent fuel economy and will run forever if maintained. if it is pretty complete in the resto job, 2600 is more than fair.

if your doing your own work and arnt afraid to get your hands dirty, get a 02 z28 (dont pay the 4gs extra for the manual like a typical hs tool). or get an evo 9, and put the rest of the money into the car. (these are your best options for speed).
if you suck at working on cars and dont want to get your hands dirty (this is where i fall in), get a 2011 mustang gt and just get a predator tune. or you could go with an sti and do a catback , intake and cobb AP stage I which should get you low 13s if you can drive decent.
the sleeper choices are genesis coupe 2.0t and do work to it, or a supra if you really know what your doing (though not best bang for your buck), or a foxbody if your a ford guy and do a swap.

stis stock are low 13s. just fyi.
you might be looking at mid to low 12s with those bolt ons. even moreso if you did a tbe.
my suggestion would be evo or sti, those are gonna be the 2 best cars especially if you live where it snows alot *i didnt look to see where you live* otherwise the new 5.0 mustang gts really cant be beat.

fyi: intakes with stock components and tunes are pretty pointless on sti's; drop-in filters are usually the better option
the best mod for them will always be tbe and tune

Do it! Idk how much your into doing things cheaper but that year of vw diesel you can run veggy oil and not have to convert it. This means you wouldnt have to pay for gas. Just make sure the oil is clean and there are metal tubes in your car not rubber b.c the oil will melt them lol
