The air consumption is only better at 300fps, a speed at which a .50 paintball is extremely ineffective. To get the same kinetic energy/distance, you'd have to bump up to 450fps. There goes your consumption.

.50 Cal sucks! I ordered a Spyder Opus - A after Christmas, and it arrived like a week later. The first time out playing paintball, it chopped 95 % of the balls. Then the ball stopper fell out, so it would double feed. After that was replaced, it still chops 50 % of the balls. I'm going to order an Invert Mini soon, no more Opus >
