Intermediate Ski Help

Hey guys looking to buy my first pair of skis. I've been skiing for the past three years and I absolutely love it. I am an intermediate skier looking to go advanced. I usually stick on black diamonds and the occasional blue square.

I like a quick snappy ski, but I'm absolutely lost on what to look for.

I have looked at:
K2 Apache Raider
Salomon X-Wing 8

I'm looking to keep it around under $600. Preferably lower though.

Thanks

you stay on runs mostly or do most of your skiing off trail

Check out volkl skis and line skis, I ride k2 press skis but in the past volkls have been my favorite ski I ever owned. Lots of my park friends ride and swear by line skis too. Goodluck mate!

The thing that I would like to add is that shaped skis strip you of turningabilities that you can exploit and/or develop. If you like to make the same basic turns every run or run gates I guess this could be good.

As stated above it depends on location. Whether I'm skiing in Colorado or Michigan, I want a stiff, straight edged ski so I can carve as I desire not what the factory has determined with the hourglass shape that they chose. Free skiing should in fact feel free not restricted.
