Thanks man.

Would it be okay to mix schooling fish and single? Because i've seen groups of neons and I agree they look amazing.

yeaa, but jsut dont group like bigger cichlids with tetra's cause they will eventualy get eaten lol. but you could deffinalty get like 25 tetra's and have a really sweet tank, esspecialy if you put some real plants in there.

and with the proper filtration, you could have a reallly really nice tetra tank. and the ladies love it lol

I take care of a doctors office's 180 gal tank. has around 50 cichlids of different varieties. some barbs, and some blood parratos, few big plecos.

at the house i have a 30 gal with angels in it and a 55 gal with a big oscar.

Simon that's a pretty sweet tank, what're the dimensions? It seems like it's a little small for Rays.

That's what I'm wondering. With rays a big tank is important for water quality but the actual footprint is very important.

I use to have a 55gal saltwater tank. It was beautiful but took alot of upkeep and fish were expensive. When my last one died I took it down and sold it.

Right now I've got:

50g with 8 African cichlids, I forget what kind.
55g with 3 comets and 1 giant danio.
45g hex with a mix of tetras, a pleco, and two giant gouramis.
30g planted with 2 pearl gouramis, at least a dozen green, bronze, and one other species of cory, 1 female millennium rainbow, 1 redline barb, 4 albino red-eye tetras, 2 otos, and 3 female bettas.
10g with 3 female killifish and 1 male betta.
40g with 3 jack dempsies and 2 firemouths.
10g reef(to be) that is cycling.

And OP, you're gonna need a bigger tank for two oscars. A 75 is the bare minimum.

The tank is around 5ft across, and around 2.5ft deep out from the wall.

I got the ray when she was about 3" across, and had her for around 6 years until she was about 18" across. Even nursed her back to life after she was floating on the surface after an attack from a Cichlid.

Not sure what the recommended size of tank is for Ray's but she was always very happy. She would follow you around the tank, come to the side when you wanted to see her, and catch feeder fish up against the glass in one of the most amazing demonstrations of stalking.

I loved watching her. The Arowana is more aggressive, but the ray was my favourite to watch. Loved the way she swam and glided around the tank.

If I ever got a different tank it would be for rays, but I wouldn't want one of those coffee table style ones where you only see them from above. Watching them from the side and against the glass was the most impressive view.

yea i knowww, its a grow out tank. 150 in the near future

and dass a lot of fishes lol

simon you should deffinatly get like a 350 gal and put into your new house! like build it into your wall! but most people put them like on the wall so you cant see the corners, i think if you put it in the wall on a corner so you could see the side of the tank to, THAT would be very bad ***
