Are you aware the 8th is Mother's Day?

Ok what date would the players like . If we keep it on the 7th and 8th that is mothers day .If we move it to the 14th and 15th that conflicts with Hell Survivors game.If we move it to April 16th and 17th that puts it one week after Fort Knoxs game. Or if we keep it the original date of the first we loose Tippmann , Smokin , and Blues Crew. Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

When it comes to Sherwood games vendors have never made or broken a game for me. As long as there is still a paint rep to address any issues then i would keep the dates.

My experiences with scheduling ICC events, and running games at my field, have shown me that Mother's Day is one of those dates to avoid. Looking at the calendar for nearby events, that April 30 - May 1st date is the one with least conflict at the local level. Shifting the date will put it within a week or two (or on top of) other local events.

I don't know how frequently local scenario players can afford to play. Do they need 2 weeks to save up for the next event, or do they need longer? If they need longer, that means avoiding local events isn't as important as giving the local players a reason to play your event vs. the other events.

Bottom line, what will have a bigger impact on your game? Will being closer to other local events have a greater impact on attendance than a regional event that's several hours away? Are the vendors a draw for the players, or just a perk that has no impact on numbers?

I have some other thoughts on scheduling I've learned over the years. Give me a call if you're interested in hearing them.

As far as I know the Spring Castle Conquest has always been on top of or almost on top of the May event at Sherwood. Since I started traveling for events I have put the Sherwood event above Castle Conquest.

I know for a fact that Hole In The Wall up in Bangor, MI does not worry about the event schedule at EMR. They mainly worry about the event schedule for HSI, Splatmandu, and Sherwood.

Ok after much discussion we have decided to keep the game on our original date of April 29th ,30th and May 1st. Thankyou for all your input and calls and looking forward to seeing you then.

I think its a decent idea as well. It would be very difficult to move the date without consequences on a regional basis.
