btw, what's the value of a 24 over a 28?

24 is a lot more. 28 prolly is around $400, 24 is around $1200 I think. I love the 28 1.8, used it as my primary lens for around a year on my 40D.

Good luck if the images are on Facebook. When Facebook processes an uploaded image it strips off most of the exif data. Unless I'm doing something wrong...

hey guys,
Looking for new glass. Something not too expensive, basically what i'm looking for is something that i can have fun with for portraits. I'm using a 7d. Any suggestions would be sweet.

yah, and prolly what you already have.
What I do w/not a lot of money for portraits.
1. 50 1.8 $90
2. 28-75 2.8 Tamron $325ish
3. 50 1.4 $325ish
Take your pick.

Personally I'd also add the 85mm f/1.8 - it'd be the more expensive of the group (at 400 bones), but I like shooting portraits with a slightly longer lens, usually somewhere between 85 - 110mm. Usually gives you a more flattering shot for the subject, at least that's what I find.
But the 50 1.8 works wonders for 90$.

eh, I don't like the 85 1.8 on crop if you are going to do anything indoors. Even the 50mm is even pushing it.

Aahh true enough - outside its pretty nice to work with though, as long as you have a good 7' to work with give or take.
Maybe I just liked using the 85 because I've had the 50 1.8 for 4 years now - I like a little change now and then.
But @ 90$ the 50 is a steal.

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 or Canon 70-200 f/4L? I'd be spending a little bit more for the Sigma, but the f/2.8 might be worth the extra money.

I own the 50mm 1.8, do love it. And what i meant by not too expensive was like the $300 range. I heard some things about 100mm lenses. Something that i can do some fun work with, i'm going to be doing car shoots also with friends just for fun, and definitely looking to get into more portrait stuff.

I really disliked the focal length the 28 gave me. It was kind of awkward but I'm really used to shooting with the 35l so that may be why. Keep in mind I shoot with full frame though so the crop on a 28 would be closer to like a 50 on a 1.6 censor.

im looking to get a camera with HD video and cannot decide whether to get the T1i or the T2i. as of now i have a rebel XSI with a 17-35L, 50mm, 28-135 IS USM, and a manual 8mm fisheye made for EF-S bodies. i know the T2i will be a better camera than the T1i but compaired to my XSI how much better/worse quality is the photos?
i got into photography wanting it to be my career and it has taken a back seat in my life and is now only a hobby so im not looking to upgrade to much.

I'd get t2i just for manual controls. I'd skip the t1i. Also, if you can scrounge it up I'd get the 60d if you are really thinking about doing a lot of video + photos.
