Shocker reputation
Hey i am not really all that educated when it comes to speedball guns but their seems to be a discrepency as far as smart part shockers go. Some people love them and others say they are garbage and i was just wondering why no one ever really elaborates on there opinion.

Well as long as you know how to properly maintain your marker shockers are good guns, not the most gas efficient guns stock but there are plenty of functional upgrades for sft/nxt's that put them above or on par with the current high end guns of today.
Generally anyone saying something bad about a gun usually has a few constants such as: operator error, bad paint, and improper use.

On average NPPL and semi players can satisfy their girlfriends and wives much better than PSP and ramping players :)

I've had two, an SFT (Dark) and an NXT (standard). Both were fine guns. Only problem I ever had was getting a bit of shell stuck between the bolt and body after some old paint I was shooting (ah, see, crap paint=problems) chopped. What you see as far as people really freaking out about Shockers is typically more Smart Parts hatred than an actual problem with the guns.

Exactly, you said that perfect. People just rip on smart parts all the time. The shocker is a good gun for a decent price.

Yeah probably a better choice than dumping more money into your A5 if you're not happy with it. Plus it's always nice to have a secondary gun!

Unless something has changed, the only problem with getting a shocker is that smart parts is out of business. If you have a problem, you basically have to fix it yourself or find a part used somewhere. If something is different then what I stated, I would love to know.

They're back under the name GoG. They aren't putting anything out for Shockers (yet), just the renamed Vibe, SP-1, and Ion so far. I wouldn't be surprised to see Shockers under one name or another eventually.

Plus there's plenty of helpful people on here that have parts fs or can help you iff you have a problem. A lot of Shocker owners = a lot of people with knowledge of how to fix them.

Really? Was never a smarts parts fan, but I'm glad they came back. Never like seeing someone fall from the sports.
