What We're All about:
The VICIOUS Series exists to provide players with the absolute pinnacle of tournament paintball at the regional level in the central part of the United States at an affordable price. For 2011 the VICIOUS Series is proud to present the Premier Division for the elite teams in the Central United States to compete in.

Information for the Premier Division of the 2011 VICIOUS Series

- Limited to 10 teams
- Officiated by professional paintball team VICIOUS
- Fields are 150ft long, same as the past few years
- RaceTo-5 format
- 4 Matches played in the preliminary round
- 10 minutes of game time
- 2 minute breaks between each point
- Maximum of 10 players and 2 staff
- Event recaps and photos posted on PbNation.com and ProPaintball.com
- Enclosed pit areas for teams with enough room to actually move around in
- Personal 10’x10’ staging areas for each team
- 2 air stations in each pit area
- Full size LCD monitor in each pit area displaying game scoreboard
- Electronically controlled scoring and game clock
- Roster verification and player eligibility via the American Paintball Players Association
- Each team must wear matching jersey with double digit numbers, 4”x4” on each sleeve
- Snake side, as well as pit side coaching (all coaching must take place from inside the pit area for the 2011 VICIOUS Series)
- Each event will have its own unique field layout
- Each unique field layout will be released 2 to 3 weeks before the event for teams to practice on
- Finally Video/Media coverage for divisional teams
- The finals of the 3rd event in the Series, as well as the 2011 VICIOUS Series All Star Game will be covered by Planet Eclipse and featured on ETV
- That’s right, we said 2011 VICIOUS Series All Star Game
- Each team will be able to submit 2 of its players to participate in the 2011 VICIOUS Series All Star Game, with a voting process being used to determine the other players to fill out the rosters
- There is no additional cost for the players participating in the 2011 VICIOUS Series All Star Game
- Players that participate in the All Star Game get to keep their jersey
- All new VICIOUS Series Sup Airball Field
- Well structured and run events
- Professionally gridded fields

** This 30 cases of Ultra Evil paintballs is only eligible through the Empire Rewards program, and open to any team that qualifies. For more information regarding this great rewards program and opportunity, please reference the section at the end of these posts outlining the Empire Rewards Program.

Player classifications for the Premier Division:
Each team in the Premier Division must submit, no later than May 10, 2011, their 1 player with a UCP score of up to 3000 points, or their 2 players each with a UCP score of up to 1500 points, so their rank can be noted. Should this player(s) attend any PSP events in the 2011 season, their rank within the VICIOUS Series will not be adjusted upward mid-season, provided they participate in their respective division in which they are currently ranked. Should a player with a UCP ranking of Division 1, choose to play at the Pro level for a PSP event however, this willing attempt to advance their rank will be noted, and they will not be allowed to continue in the 2011 VICIOUS Series should their points go above the set threshold.

For example:
Billy has a UCP score of 2,856. This allows him to play for a team in the Premier Division as their one player that can hold up to 3000 UCP points. Within the PSP this will make him a Division 1 player. As long as Billy plays in Division 1 of the PSP for 2011 he is all good. Even if his team does great in the PSP, and his UCP score goes up above 3000 midseason, he will still be allowed to play in the VICIOUS Series. We do not feel it is fair to punish him because his team performs well at the national level.
Now, if Billy chooses to play in the VICIOUS Series, and then goes to a PSP event and plays at the Pro level and his UCP score goes above 3000, this will be reflected in his UCP score. Because he has willingly chosen to play at a higher level that will increase his UCP score above the 3000 point threshold, Billy will not be allowed to continue to participate in the VICIOUS Series for 2011 as a player.

So if a player has 1100 points at the start of the PSP season, and their team performs well and they accrue more than the 1500 allotted points, they will still be allowed to participate for 2011 in the VICIOUS Series. If his team were to do poorly, he would be fine without question. We do not feel it is fair to penalize a player for their hard work and success.

Information for the Intermediate Division of the 2011 VICIOUS Series

Intermediate Event:
A one day event taking place on the Saturday of the event weekend. This is a continuous play, first team to reach 2 points, match play format. This division will be played in the usual X-Ball style, with an overall match time, as well as 2 minutes between points.


Entry Fees:
----- Intermediate Continuous Play First to 2 Points (5 Man).......... Each Event $300.......... Prepay the full series of 3 events for just $700. SAVE $200!

* All entry fees include All Day HPA. There is no extra charge for air*
**All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE**

If your team wants to play the entire VICIOUS Series in 2011, and wants to receive the discounts for registering for all 3 events at once, you should call Jake at 402-502-3434 or email ViciousSeries@gmail.com to be put on the waiting list. All teams on the waiting list that are 100% committed to playing in the Intermediate Division are now able to register.

Classifications:
----- Intermediate: Players in this division may hold an APPA rank of D4, D5, and None. Each team may also roster up to 2 players with a Division 3 ranking. Players in this division may hold a ranking of Division 1 or LOWER and still be allowed to participate as long as they are 40 years old, or older.



Roster Size & Limits:
----- Intermediate: Teams may roster up to 8 players and 2 staff members for this division. Each team will be allowed to roster up to 2 players that holds an APPA rank of Division 3, all other players must be ranked D4 or lower.


Match Start Times:
SATURDAY
----- Intermediate matches will begin immediately following the Captain's Meeting. Players should plan on matches starting approximately 7:45am to 8:00am CST. Teams are only required to arrive and be fully checked in 90 minutes before their first scheduled match.

For example: if your first match is scheduled to start at 11:00am, you must have your entire team, staff and players, checked in by 9:30am.


Format:
The Intermediate Division will be Continuous play Xball style, played in a match game format. The winner is the first team to score 2 points. There will be 6 minutes of total game time per match, with 2 minutes in between each point. There will be no time outs, and full coaching will be allowed. We have chosen the first to 2 points to allow Intermediate Division teams the opportunity to become adjusted to a Continuous Play format, while not needing a massive amount of players and staff. While the roster limit for this division is 8 players and 2 staff, teams can realistically play this format with 6 or 7 players easily.
Intermediate teams will play no less than 4 matches in the Preliminary round.


General Series Information For Both The Premier and Intermediate Divisions



Rosters:
All rosters must be completed 10 days prior to the event. This is to ensure that all rosters can be checked and confirmed. Any addition made after this deadline will be at a cost of $20 per addition, there is no charge to drop a player from a roster.

ID Cards:
All players and staff will be required to have a current VICIOUS Series ID card to sign in at any VICIOUS Series event in 2011. All players and staff must also be in good standing with the league at the time of the event to be allowed to participate. Players and staff must also have an appropriate picture uploaded to their APPA player profile to be used for their ID card. VICIOUS Series ID cards can be purchased through the APPA Website via your individual player profile.

2011 VICIOUS Series ID cards may be purchased for $35 for the initial ID card. Replacement cards may be purchased at a price of $10 per card printed.

Once a player pays for their 2011 VICIOUS Series ID card, they must use it to sign in during player registration at the events. Only players and staff with current VICIOUS Series ID cards will be allowed to sign in. All players and staff must have their 2011 VICIOUS Series ID card on them at all times while in the pit area or on the field, and must be able to produce if when asked by any series staff.

For the 2011 VICIOUS Series, all participants and spectators must be 10 years of age or older to be allowed on the property of the participating fields. This is a rule that is set in place by their insurance companies, and is not something we can control. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, but this rule is in place for the safety of all players and spectators.


Rate of Fire:
All divisions will have a 12.5bps rate of fire cap and must be in a PSP approved firing mode


Paint Info:
All VICIOUS Series events in 2011 are EVENT PAINT ONLY. Teams will not be able to use paint from a previous event at another event in the Series. We will have paintballs available starting at $55 plus tax per case of 2000 paintballs, and increasing prices for higher grades of paint from there.


Player Misconduct:
Player misconduct penalties can be assessed by any judge on the field, as well as the Ultimate Judge. Any action deemed to be player misconduct can result in a 1 for 1 penalty, 2 for 1 penalty, suspension, and or ejection. Actions deemed inappropriate can include swearing, hostile physical contact between individuals, throwing equipment, or just being a poor sport and making the event less fun for other players (this includes taunting, counter-coaching, being a jerk in general, etc.)

ABSOLUTELY NO FOUL LANGUAGE will be tolerated from any players, staff or spectators. While we understand this is a competitive event, it is still a family event, and should be fun and enjoyable for everyone involved.


Color Restrictions:
The colors orange and pink are banned colors in the VICIOUS Series in 2011. Any of these colors may absolutely not appear on jerseys, pants, markers, loaders, etc. This also includes but is not limited to stickers and logos on equipment and player clothing.


Some Clothing Rules:
All players must wear long pants and a long-sleeve jersey type shirt. Player clothing may not have excessive holes, rips, tears, or anything else that would inhibit a referee’s ability to monitor a player.

Metal and ceramic spikes and cleats are not allowed at any VICIOUS Series event for 2010. Track spikes are acceptable as long as the spikes have been removed. This is done to ensure the safety of players, staff and the fields.

Player’s clothing worn on the field may not contain the colors Yellow, Orange, or Pink, as these colors are banned for the 2010 season in the VICIOUS Series.


Spectators:
Spectators are encouraged to come out and support their team. We require that fans respect the officiating staff as well as all of the players at the event. Counter-coaching, as well foul language will not be allowed by any player or spectator.


Hotel Information:
Hotel information will be posted for each event.


Media:
The VICIOUS Series does not charge for media passes. However, as media, the VICIOUS Series’ only request is to make all other media files available for the players, families, and friends to enjoy. Photographers interested in attending any of the VICIOUS Series events this year should email ViciousSeries@gmail.com to inquire about a media pass.

Empire Rewards Program

At each event:
Premier Division teams can win 30 cases of Ultra Evil Paintballs for use at any 2011 PSP event (possibly UWL Nationals) - a $1500 value
Intermediate Division teams can win 10 cases of Ultra Evil Paintballs for use at any 2011 PSP event (possibly UWL Nationals) - a $500 value

Teams that are participating in the Premier or Intermediate Divisions that meet the requirements (outlined below) can win this paint package for use at any 2011 PSP event or possibly UWL Nationals on top of the prize package already established for their division. The paint won must be used at a PSP in 2011 and possibly the 2011 UWL Nationals (we will have confirmation on this soon).

Requirements -
All members of the team must meet 3 of 6 following categories minimum:
wear 2011 Empire goggles
use 2011 Empire loaders
shoot 2011 Empire paintball markers
wear 2011 Empire pants
wear 2011 Empire jerseys
use a combination of a 2011 Empire harness & Empire air system

Teams that are interested in qualifying for this awesome opportunity that are in need of equipment are more than welcome to contact GP. We are more than willing to help teams work out a team package for whatever items the team might need.

Prize paint won is non transferable and is for use at 2011 PSP events (and the possible UWL Nationals) ONLY. There is no cash exchange for the prize paint, and it must be shot by the team that won it. Teams that win may not sell the prize paint. Teams that win must meet with Greg or Carl at the event they are attending to receive the paint.

We are hoping it will be huge for all of the central US. Last year we had teams from over 10 states this year it looks like that will grow by 2 or 3 more states. We want to offer a place where the best of the region can play each other in the Premier Division. We also feel it would be a cool thing for the D-4 teams to play a real x-ball style format while playing teams fromall over the central part of the US.
