Well, I finally am feeling regrets about selling my old 360 with these new games coming out,and I'm planning on either buying another or getting one for christmas.


Couple questions:

1)Should I go with the new xbox or the OG one? Does the new one still have rrod, disk drive problems, etc?

2) Planning on getting Reach, Black Ops, and Greg Hastings 2. Are there any other games worth looking into? I like first person shooters.

3) I plan on using live. Should I just connect a 50 foot ethernet cable to my router or use a 360 wireless adapter? I remember my live working well 95% of the time with both.

4) Is kinect worth it?

New XB360 comes with Wireless built in (the Slim) with A/B/G/N support (note: The N support is 2.4ghz not 5ghz, but it shouldn't honestly make a difference with gaming unless you have interference issues).

Games? Only game I can highly recommend is AC: Brotherhood (not an FPS but amazing game).

Wifi over wired: Go with Wirelss N. The 2.4ghz range is way better than the 5ghz so you should get about the same signal as G as far as bars, but you'll need a Wireless N router. I just bought a Buffalo one with dual antennae MIMO (and built in DD-WRT). That should be fine enough for gaming (avg about 120-140Mbps over the max 54 on Wireless G)

No idea on kinect. Just bought the XB360 SLIM + Kinect bundle, but not opening it til XMAS and bought my daughter Kinectimals. I haven't played it yet, but it seems fun enough. Especially if you have friends over.

I heard there was a new fallout game too. Vegas? Is that any good?

I loved FO3. Best friggin game on the planet until I had no missions left

Also, A new Assassins Creed? It's sort of at the back of the agenda but if there's anything really cool about I might go out and get it.

1)New one. No.

2) Don't get MoH, check out Fallout and Borderlands. TRY them first, they're FPSRPG's, not just plain shooters.

3) The new xbox's use wireless I think.

4) Meh, not right now. If you're into the casual party kind of games then you might want to pick it up. Kinect really has no fun games out for it right now, i'm sure there will be a few in the future.

Have you played AC2?

If not play that first, and it's on sale and cheap all over the place. AC2 is 100x better than AC. AC:B improves on AC2 and it even adds MULTIPLAYER!

I would say new one although I already got a red dot on mine. Hard drive corrupted and had to send it in.

1. Get the new 'Slim' version and just use that built in wireless, as long as you have a wireless router (which I'm sure almost all routers are now a days).
   
2. The games you picked are all FPS so I'd say get something other than an FPS if you can afford it. I hear Fable 3 is good.
   
3. Like others said, skip the Kinect until they release more games, and even then only if you are into party games with friends and family.

1) New Slim version. No RROD and has wifi, just be careful you don't touch that thing while it's spinning your disc, it will destroy it.
2) Borderlands is fairly simalar to those and a great game imo.
3) Slim has Wifi.

not an xbox user but can comment on games:

i would reccomend battlefield bad company 2 for multiplayer fps.
borderlands is a great fps but if you are only into fps for multiplayer i would skip it. although there is 4 player co-op.

i put way more time into bfbc2 than i did with all the cods combined ( i didnt even bother buying mw2,played it a bunch at a friends house but really didnt like it. though i did buy black ops cause most of my friends are into the cod series.)

bioshock is on xbox as well i think. very cool fps with a great storyline and a very cool upgrade path. but no mp


MoH is a nice bridge between the cod style shooter and the mega size of the battlefield series but seems to be lacking something.

Ive played AC2 Liked it but didn't love it.
