How to take apart/upgrade your marker without breaking it

What are some tips to make sure you don't mess up and break your marker when taking it apart? Thanks

Have the illustrated parts breakdown and read and understand the manual for the disassembly procedures. Don't force anything. Use the correct tools. Watch an experienced person do it first. Those are some ideas.

i agree with everything they have said also try bringing it to your local paintball place and see if they will help teach you how to take it apart or if a player that knows how to take it apart can help you

Check with youtube. Most markers and accessories are posted online. You can also call tech support from the manufacturer.

-Look for a video guide, either on youtube, google video, or on the manufacturer's website.
-Read the manual, and keep it handy. If you don't have it, you can find PDF versions of many manuals online.
-When removing parts, arrange them like they would go back in, and keep screws in a small cup to keep from losing them.
-Don't use anything abrasive to clean your marker. Only use the type of lubrication recommended by the manufacturer.
-Don't force anything. If you need to use a lot of force, you're doing it wrong, and may wind up breaking something.

if it isnt broken, dont. Take the bolt out and lube it if it's not delrin. if it has a ram a few drops of oil. other than that there's not much you need to do to it. I can understand how you would want to take it part and see all the pieces, everybody does, but having a working gun normally outweighs seeing all the pieces.

Most new player markers will tend to never shoot as clean as they did once taken apart. I'm amusing you have a lower end marker because otherwise you probably wouldn't be asking this (not flaming you man, just making assumptions) If it's a spyder, look at how to take apart the bolt/ram that's pretty much all you will ever need to know until you blow a cup seal. If it's an ion unfortunately to get to the bolt you pretty much have to take the whole gun apart. Do it carefully, make sure you have plenty of time. Do it right, do it at a clean table, in a well lit area. If you're confused, STOP, figure out what to do, don't guess. If it's a rail or SLG i can't speak from experience but they should just be the bolt assembly. make sure you put it back together right.

good luck, hope this helped a bit

some markers need specific tools as well.

If you have a dye/proto a strap wrench is pretty much needed to take the hyper 2 reg apart. find out if something like that is needed.

Try not to Strip screws it will be a pain after that happens.
Also like what everyone else is posting watch a Youtube guide or ask someone for step-by-step instructions on how to do it.

My favorite tip is to lay out a white towel on the lowest place possible(ground, floor, etc.) and put all of your parts on that. The white will help you find that tiny black screw and being on the ground or floor will keep that tiny black screw from falling off the white towel onto your dark carpet.

You could have put a poll up for this one. However I am certain the most vote would have went too Read the manual fully

Depends what gun you have. Generally you can look up your gun on Youtube and see instructional videos there. If not just follow the manual, go slow and make sure not to lose any screws.

Just don't break it. Read the manual and learn how to tech your gun properly.
