I love the bad physics in this thread, weight has nothing to do with max speed until you brake or for normal force.

Wat? F=ma.... You generally don't have an infinitely long road.

More than power to weight ratio

130 in my last truck, 75 chevy c10 with a mildly built 350. had a 2.56 rearend so it took forever to get up there. felt like the truck was going to fall apart.
speedometer on my current f250 stops at 85 but it feels like its still accelerating.

Whether you can reach your top speed in a reasonable amount of time depends on it.
A = dv/dt, come on mr physics.

Who said anything about reasonable time? I said these people who are tossing around weight and power to weight ratio don't understand that weight nor mass have anything to do with top speed.
Besides this is energy conservation. Depends on speed, work and friction, none of which has to do with mass in this case.

Vf^2 = Vi^2 + at
a = f/m
therefore
Vf^2 = Vi^2 + (f/m)t
right? Haven't used any physics in a couple years... so if I made a stupid mistake cut me some slack.

Cool so I can go 130 in my car with and extra 10,000 pounds in it, no problem.
