so are you trying to use a feed tube to feed the breach or how are you looking to feed it? If you use a feed tube you might want to try to figure out a way to make sure when the FS round enters the breach it doesn't roll or fall in sideways.

I'm just going to hand feed the FS rounds in. A feed tube won't speed up the gun and it's strictly a sniper gun so I don't mind having the hand feed for this gun.

i think a stock would actually take away from function, simply because it has the asa right there. a T-stock with a remote line would prolly work great tho

No if you read my thread it says that I will be using a 9oz CO2 tank with a stock buck on it so it acts as a stock. I'm only using 12 grams right now for testing because I have a bunch of them and my 9oz is empty.
I will have to throw up a pic of my tank.

I don't want to use a remote ever, I'd rather have the air system built into the gun in some way, shape or form. The 9oz works very well, it's angled downward just enough so that I can use the red dot easily with a mask on.

Thanks for the suggestions though guys.

Great work. I was going to do this with an old trracer pump. Maybe I will give it another go as a winter project.

It isn't a ton of work and I only had to buy a few parts. I didn't have to buy a rail adapter but I wanted to use the actual rails.
Only part I had to buy was the bi-pod so it's fairly cheap as well.
FS rounds was the second most expensive thing lol

Thanks for the compliment!

well I don't plan on shooting a lot of FS rounds because they're so expensive and with hand loading I can switch to regular paint any time.
I also like the smooth lines of the gun with no feed tube or anything.

I had a chance to shoot the gun a little today with the red dot. At around 10-12 yards I was hitting right on the dot with 3 month old walmart paint. Scope was still sighted in from before. I had to do a little work on the silencer so that it went on the barrel straight. After that little fix the gun shot just as straight as before. The silencer works very well and cuts the sound by 50% I would say, I have no way to measure it right now.

Here are some more pics I took of the gun with the tank. Things have changed now but you get the idea.

The gun is just over 39" (3'3") from tip of silencer to the butt stock.

9oz tank, wrapped in tape in this pic but today I removed the tape and all the stickers under it. I then sanded the tank down to 400 grit so it can be painted.

I shot the gun some more today. To my surprise I got 41 shots from one 12 grams.
After shooting the gun I wanted to get a move on the gun so I removed the tape from the barrel and sanded it down. I also removed the tape from the bolt handle and sanded that down. I sanded down the frame a little for paint.
I decided to spray paint the gun because being a sniped a simple camo paint job won't to the trick. I'm looking at rifle wraps and will either buy or make a ghillie rifle wrap. Right now all of the parts are painted flat black but I need to get a can of ultra flat camo black for a final coat.
I spray painted the gun because I already had the paint laying around and cost a very important for me. Once the gun in wrapped in a ghillie wrap and dragged through the brush the paint job won't really matter.

I'll post pics later, everything is still drying.

I had to go pick up my paycheck so I grabbed a can of ultra-flat camo black while out. Just got done putting a top coat on everything with the camo paint.
Teaser pic for now:

almost 1000 view and only a couple replies?!?
and only 24 people voted on the color

edit: I didn't want to add to my long list of post already from today so I'll just add this here.
I just got an email saying that my bi-pod was shipped. It says it was shipped USPS Priority so it should be here Wednesday/Thursday.
Once I get that the gun will be complete. I just need to have my 9oz tank filled, hopefully the field doesn't give me crap for the tank.

The parts turned out quite well. I just put an extra coat on the body and had to fix a part on the frame. I did untape the other parts:
Tank and valve

Close up of the valve, you can see the texture and color difference

I'm going to untape and unplug the body and possibly put the gun together tonight. I may give the paint a little more time to cure overnight.

i would let it cure, just to make sure its all completely done. You have made it this far, so why rush it now to possibly mess something up.

Yeah I'm going to. I was reading the back of the paint can and it says it becomes chip resistant after 7 days so the parts will be sitting for a while.

The body had a bad spot on it where the paint was trying weird, looked like it was cracked. I sanded it down for a second time last night (just the weird spot) and now I can paint it. Hopefully it takes the paint normally and I will be able to let it cure.

I also received my bi-pod today. It's pretty nice for the price. Has 5 different length setting on the legs and folds up easily.

edit @ 7:45pm: the body did turn out and I put 2 coats on the spot that had to be touched up and blended it with the rest of the body. I just got done assembling the gun to test fit everything. The gun looks amazing, the bi-pod really compliments the gun and completes the look I was going for. Sorry for no pics yet but I took the gun apart right afterwards because the bolt oring was giving me trouble (probably from paint in the breech) so I'm going to fix that. I want to wait for the paint to cure more, the can says it will be chip resistant after 7 days so I'm shooting to let everything sit for quite a while.
When installing the bi-pod I cut 2 strips of black athletic tape to the width of the barrel clamp and wrapped it around the barrel to help protect it.

Thanks CJ, I can't wait to post up pic of the gun completely together. I just haven't had time to go outside and take some decent pictures.
I fixed the small problem with the breech and oiled up the gun today, almost forgot it needs to be lubed. The gun is now complete, only disappointment is that the side I sealed off cracked loose a tiny bit when working with the bolt. Not sure if I pushed it in then the bolt pushed it back out or what but it's about 1/4 of the sealed area and only just a hairline. The only way you can tell it's there is the oil that the bolt pushed through it. I'm not worried about it since the gun is so far completed and I plan on putting a ghillie rifle wrap on it anyways.

I shot a few reballs through it to work in some of the oil and everything seems to be working great. The velocity increased a little since it's oiled and I will be chrono'ing the gun sometime this weekend as long as I have time.

I will try and get final pics this weekend as well. I might not fill my tank for testing but I will put it on for pictures.
