'04 Viking Milling..
While I love my '04 unmilled Viking it is really in need of a diet. I generally only use it for the "last battle" at scenario games because dragging it all over the field all day is a killer. Nothing like shooting an entire case of paint and still having air left in the tank.
Jared is a stand up guy, does amazing work and I really like the new APL Milling he's doing. But at the same time the Tarantula milling looks damn good as well.
Anyone have any other recommendations for any other milling services that anyone else still offers? I'd like to explore all options before making a final decision.

Unfortunately there aren't many right now. JMJ quit several years ago and Tarantula hasn't been for about a year now. You may be able to find someone willing to use a manual mill to take off some weight, otherwise DC is your only option right now. I suggest selling your viking and picking up a used one that's already milled. It's likely your cheapest, quickest option.

Sup Bro? Long time. How's life been treating you and the Jersey gang? I still have flashbacks of Blanding in FL, just sitting in those windows on the second floor mowing down anything and everything that came into view. You ever unload that Immortal or Highlander?
All doing pretty well up here. I'm getting back into the game after about a 2 year hiatus. Had too many real life headaches and way too much drama that I had to deal with to even think about paintball.
skinnyfatguy, thanks for the info. I would just sell mine and buy something already finished but I'm actually rather attached to it. It's simply the fastest marker I've ever shot and even though I've had it like 4 or 5 years and have used it fairly frequently it is in perfect condition. not a mark, scratch or nick on her. On top of that many of the colors don't do it for me. I like simple matte black or a nice gun metal, splashes and bright colors don't really do it for me.
I'll shoot Jared an email and get the marker over to him sometime soon. Been out of it for too long, does he do ano as well?

i feel you, i played ION 2010 at skirmish with my streamline excalibur (and after being on the field for 2 hours straight i had to switch off with my friends victory on the field) and my arms are pretty strong. then again i have my gun up 90% of the time unlike most of the scenario guys.

contact tony elia also.
um maybe take a dremel to it .
also if you do some homework and get i think aka manual and they say where you can mill and cant mill and how deep. show that to a machinist and get some really badass work done. i suggest going to a university that has students working there and paying one of them to do their own ideas (cheapest route).
or sell your unmilled one. and wait for a milled one on here mcarterbrown or ebay and snatch it up.

serious your going to let a student mill your AKA marker. even the guys that have done work on AKA's before and know what they are doing have had couple of slip up's. and if that student does mess it up, whats your recourse after that, you going to have them mill you a new body from scratch???

its only a stock body that is acquired for 300$ assuming its an 03.
when you take greater risk you reap better rewards. I definitely would, but you probably didnt go to a school where there were students trained as machinists. it is not uncommon for a senior student with 4 years in the shop to be a decent machinist.
and it would cost you alot less for that custom design then for jared to make a 1 of 1 design from the ground up for you. Im not talking cutting a line in the dc milling.
for me I would say its worth it. But i guess alot of people have less balls and arnt worth taking the risk of destroying a body for a truely unique design.

LOL. I have a Sig P229 in .40 but not looking to trade it
We just had a scenario titled "The Untouchables" with Ben Tippmann and Greg Hastings as captains. Not anywhere near what TWC, Blanding, etc are in scale but a pretty fun day non the less. I do miss the big games and especially the after parties, the before parties and the after after parties. I'm game for a road trip.
yuik, Don't think I don't have my eye on that Tarantula you posted...

The beavertail on the Elite models is really nice. Not crazy about the platinum color but the two-tone looks a lot better in the flesh than in pics so I'll reserve judgment.

Theres one other place that I know of that will mill vikings but he wanted to get a list of people who'd be interested to see if it would be worth it. He's milling one of mine (custom milling ) but would offer it to everyone if there was a huge demand for it
