Viking Bolts & Pins. And a few other Q's.
Hey guys,
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but my viking is coming in the mail next week and I want to make sure its going to be in tip top shape.
The bolt that came with the viking might be a little messed up. It was cut, and may not perform correctly, so who would be the best to buy bolts from. I know jared and acid customs sell them, are they the best to go to? (Or if anyone here has any LMK).
Also, Jared is putting a stock bolt pink in the bolt, and I dont care for those much, so would acid customs again be the best place to get one of these?
Im sure this has been asked 100 times before, but...is the RT valve really worth it?
Hopefully Ill have pictures of my brandy newly annoed immortal next week
Dave

Shortened bolt? Why would it not perform correctly? AKA and DC should have bolts like the stock ones. Acid's bolts are oring'd I think, like the ones I made. There was another guy on AKAog some time ago, but it's down now.
I like stock pins. I'm pretty sure Jared has aluminum ones too. I've seen delrin with steel core pins from Acid. There was also WarpedMephisto that made aluminum pins.
Not sure on the RTvalve, since mine is still on my desk. I like the feel of the stock hammer/valve, I like some "feedback" from the gun I shoot. Also, since I'm cheap, I wasn't too excited to pay over $100 for a valve, I'd rather make one myself.

I'm sure each marker will be different but:
On my unmilled 03, no RT valve and smooth as butter. Very little kick.
Now, I have the RT in my 04 FSP'd and I do notice a bit more kick.
Conclusion: One could argue that the weight differential in an unmilled and milled would be the reason for the kick, despite the RT valve. That being said, after having used it, I would not have bought one. But again, I'm sure others will say different.
Also, I did not notice anything in regards to efficiency...

Doubt you"ll notice anything if you're thinking about installing in the Immortal.
