F8 Bolt Help!!

Hi guys/gals,

recently sold my f8 because I enlisted in the military, sold my f8 to a chap on here. He said the bolt assembly is flying out the rear of the marker. I am at a complete loss. I do want to help him get this working, so any advice/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Bolt or the ram? the only way I see the bold coming out is if he doesn't have the pin all the way down but it's obvious so I don't see how anyone could miss it. As far as the Ram (If that's what it is) it only sounds like he doesn't have the back cap twisted in.

I asked and he said the bolt was flying out. I asked to make sure the pin was all the way down and he said he did that. When I dry fired the gun (only time I ever used it) the pin was in place and did not fly out. I am stumped.

Thanks Raeven

yeah that is the only thing i would think could cause it. it sounds like he isn't putting it down in the slot on the ram where it needs to go.

That is the same thing I said. When I was dry firing it, it was fine.

Tell him to check the pin and the ram. Maybe one of them is broken or chipped or something. Other than that, I don't really think anything else can cause the bolt to fly out the back..

I would be more suspicious that he's pushing the bolt in, then pushing the pin down. He needs to align the curve of the bolt against the back curve of the body, making sure it's in the correct place.

The bolt should spring to the back of the gun when degassed. If it's flopping around back and forth, it's definitely not seated.

I know this because I learned it when I bought my F8. Unless it is really damaged inside, that bolt pin should stick if inserted correctly(which I suspect he may not be).
