Was is wrong...maybe is it a big deal I say no. Its not like they had ollie lang playing for them these guys could be beaten and they played a good game in the finals. What ever it takes to win right. I just think in the future we should show like a school I'd or license to prove we are who we say we are.

If there's anything new players should take out of this thread, it's if you want to one day be a really good paintball player, you're going to have become a really good cheater first.

Glad to see mankind progressing according to plan.

Posts saying "whatever it takes to win" and "cheating is a part of paintball" sends the wrong message don't you think? We all know that cheating happens, and everyone does it. However, that's not a reason to give in to it.

People wonder why paintball isn't a mainstream sport...well there you go. Somebody has the courage to call out a team that cheated (and pretty much admitted it), and some of the people who respond to the complaint say that it's part of the game.

They didn't cheat to a tremendous degree, but they still cheated. Where does the line get drawn?

Cheating is a part of the GAME of paintball, but when you turn in inaccurate rosters you are cheating the system, not the game. The purpose of the APPA is to monitor players and their classifacation.

Cheating can't be an allowable part of the sport. That is rediculous to accept. There are rules everyone should follow and if they don't there needs to be consequences or why have rules at all?

No use crying over spilled milk. The event is over..pretty sure most rookie teams are ranked too high now to play rookie next year anyway..so D4 will be coming for everyone next season and the game steps up fast.

Ok guys - I don't think it's fair to blame the teams on this one. The blame squarely falls on my shoulders for not policing the sign-in process more.

For next season the sign-in process will be a little more rigorous - meaning everyone from each team will have to do the following each event:
1) Present a waiver
2) Present a Government issued ID with picture (if you don't have one - get one - like a passport).

Each person from each team's roster will have to check in prior to play. That means show up a little earlier. Just because you're late or didn't come sign-in right away is not my problem - if you're not signed in - you don't play - that simple.

If anyone has questions concerning rosters during the event I recommend you come to me and we'll work to address the situation right then and there.

If this process doesn't work then maybe in 2012 we'll require everyone to spend an extra $30 or so to get a NPS league ID from the APPA system and you'll be required to keep that with you at all times.

But it's not a fields fault if a team cheats, I don't think anybody blames Fox4 Dave. And if they do, they shouldn't

Can I throw in my two cents...

Why go through a whole new process. How about the rosters on APPA get updated by the team's. on the day of the event everyone who comes to play, shows an ID and signs in. Fox4 personnel then check the roster of your respected team and if your on there, then check it off...if your not, then you dont play. This way the ONLY people to blame is the person in charge on your team of running the APPA. That way there is no additional costs to the players. Fox4 personnel can print out all the rosters and use that as the check/sign in sheet along with a photo ID.

To me, that is simply the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to fix the issue.
