First time at NPPL Event..TIPS??

This is gonna be our First National Event (NPPL)and was Hoping we could get some Info that we might need to know. Things that might help would be the following...

1. Do they Take CASH only at the event?
2 Is there tents or something for team to set up?
3. Do we have to take our own water?
4. What is usually the Price Range on Paint?
5. Anything we SHOULD NOT take in our gear bag (paintball related) or things we have to prepare a certain way?
6. What days does D3 usaully play?

These are just some things we might need info on, but if im leaving out anything Important please let me know. Thanks

(FYI Entry is paid, and we got our NPPL Cards)

1. yea for the most part they only take cash for stuff sold by nppl, as in id cards etc. as for paint the paint companies take cards.
2. yes they have player pit areas that have tents, they are first come first serve so be there in advance of your games.
3. yes get your own water.
4. not sure of exact paint prices if you dont have a deal I think its 35-40 ish.
5.if you fly you need to take the reg off your tank before you fly or tsa will take your tank.
6. friday, saturday and sunday if you make finals.

Shoot lots of paint and keep your lanes covered. Lock down the field and make sure everyone knows there zones.

Biggest suggestion is for everyone on the team to read the rule book. This allows your team the opportunity to discuss the game with the judges should you need to. Knowing the rules will work in your favor. Ahead of the event, elect ONE person on the team to be responsible for this. This would be someone with lots of confidence, strong negotiation techniques and knowledge of the NPPL Rule Book. If the event that you need to "argue" with a judge, have your player with the issue EXPLAIN the issue to your "negotiator" and have him talk to the judge by himself. Trust me.

Make sure there is no bounce in your guns. Make sure everyone's goggles are not modified. No cuts or anything like that. Gotta keep it legit.

Walk the fields the day before you play and most importantly, watch how the pro and division 1 players play the field. You will learn lots of tricks and tactics that you can utilize. If you see a pro player walking the field, go up, introduce your self and ask if they have any tips for playing this particular layout. Their insight is extremely helpful! Also, find out what paint is working at the time. Pro's are very finicky and don't like balls breaking in the guns, or, alternatively, not breaking on your opponents. They will be the first to share with you what you should be shooting.

If you have an extra player or two, figure out your schedule and the teams you play. Plan to have one of your players watch their breakout and figure out how they play the field. This will allow you to counter-act their game plans and insure the best chances of victory.

The bunkers with lots of paint on them are typically important. Find them and then try to find out what players are using them for. Are they shutting down lanes? Or do they have a blind shot on a bunker across the field?

Test your equipment before you go. Make sure your boards are in NPPL mode. Bring extra pods and fresh batteries. Place your new batteries into your loaders and guns the day of the event!!!

Get lots of rest and stay hydrated. Best of luck!

Keep a pit person in your pit to watch you stuff !!!!
drink lots of water
know layout
get to pits early
look for good deals on markers & gear at end of event. Players sign new contract for the next season !!!!!

My best suggestion is always to make sure you come by registration early on Friday and get all of your admission process done and out of the way. Pick up your ID cards (if you pre-paid and uploaded a photo through the online system then they'll be waiting for you to just pick them up on-site at the registration booth), get your team packet, a schedule, and finalize any last minute details so that you can just focus on walking the fields and getting ready for your games.

And try to explain yourself in as many run-on sentences as possible, just like me.
