Luxe Board Virtue Update

Called Virtue Paintball today to follow up on the Luxe board that they said was coming out this summer. The rep said the OLED board is finished and is in final testing and should be released over the next several weeks. It will come with the board, grips, and screen and cost around $180. The marker will no longer talk to you and you can remove the speaker and joystick and control it all from the trigger. Pretty awesome. I hope something like this comes stock on any future DLX markers...that speaker and joystick concept was a fail IMO.

I thought the stock board was fine. More than enough settings to work with.

Pretty late for Virtue to be releasing this, the Luxe came out in '08 and now there's a Luxe+ coming out which may or may not work with this board.

I just hope they make the grips so you can charge the battery without having to remove them. I buying one if they do.

I have nothing wrong with the stock board.

But the amount of cool **** you can do with virtue boards is definitely an upgrade

The speaker is great. There are so many settings on the stock board you don't need another/different board.

Maybe it utilizes both a screen and a speaker?

If you read the first post it says you will no longer be able to use the speaker/joystick.

Yea there is no room to have both lol. What many people don't know is how small the luxe trigger frame actually is. If you take off the grips its as small as a NT frame.

I was talking about both actually. My issue is that the threads DLX choose for the grip frame are so small and thin that taking the grips on and off consistently to charge the battery increases the chances of the threads stripping. I already had thread come out with a screw. Virtue and DLX should make future grips so you don't have to remove them to charge the battery. The whole concept of having to take the grips off to change settings is lame. Virtue got it right using a screen and the trigger.

Thats in your opinion for sure. I hate using the trigger. Also there are screws that you can snap your grips onto. It makes life alot easier but wears your grips down. I stopped using them since there "was" a shortage of luxe grips.

I have those screws in my Luxe and yeah they do wear down the outside corners of the grips and also they don't even seal against the frame 100% so paint and other debris gets down on your circuit board and other internal components...it sucks either way.

Well, if you have the charging port always open so you have easy access to charge, it is exposed to the environment and will collect dirt and mud. It would be just as bad, if not worse than using the snap on screws. I don't mind having to remove the grip to charge the batteries because I only have to do it every two weeks or so. Not a big deal. Its about the same frequency as when I had my DM9, I had to unscrew the grips to get new batteries in there. Same concept in my opinion. To me, it's not worth having the charging port exposed to elements just so I can charge the marker easier. Just not worth it.

You wouldn't leave the charging port open but some sort of cover built into the grips like something similar to the charging port cover on a cellular phone.

DLX board is just fine, the ONLY thing I wish is that it was USB/PC compatible.

No joke. Obviously it couldn't be the same thing on cell phones but like I said something similar...not really sure what though.
