Well, I'll put it this way: when you're 8-10 years old and you're just trying a sport out where largish projectiles are shot at you at 200 miles an hour, many times at a rate over 5 times per second, getting stuck with something shooting far slower than that (and less accurately) is likely the last thing you want to do. Now, if it's me playing around with some friends or a crazy guy just looking for some fun, sure, go play with it. Just don't give the kid a bad experience waiting to happen the first time he plays.
