i like the suitcase bomb, the grenade could be incorporated with a solenoid that yanked the pin also when the time expires.

im thinking of doing one up with a back up alarm, also makes a lot of noise. and was thinking of using some left over electronics to activate a powder smoke charge

for a timer i was thinking of a cooking timer, or using a older bathroom fan timer

I made this Statue of Liberty prop for a Planet of the Apes game in the spring. Kind of narrow, but I think the concepts are sound and can be applied to a wide variety of props.

I started out by making the torso. The cardboard box is there to provide stability and a basic shape. I formed stainless steel mesh I got from Home Depot around it, cut slits in the shoulders, shaped it, and held the whole thing together with floral wire.

Then, I made the rough shapes for the arms and the head. I glued together sheets of styrofoam insulation, also from home depot, and used a saw to cut them into blocks about the size I needed.

I then carved the head and arms out of those blocks of styrofoam. Since the face contains a lot of detail that I didn't want to spend a lot of time on, I spent a couple bucks to get a cheap mask from a party store. The arms are supported with a combination of floral wire, and pegs made from wire coat hangers.

Here you can see I've added the second arm. I've also added some details, like the crown, which was cut from cardboard. I also added the hand, which I made by making a skeleton out of wire coat hangers, fleshing it out with fabric and tape, and covering it in an old glove. The torch is made from a flashlight and a cut up deli container. One less obvious thing I've done is coat all the exposed styrofoam with Plaster of Paris, which I've done for 2 reasons. One is to give the skin a smoother texture, since you can't smooth out styrofoam completely. Also, I did it to protect the styrofoam from the upcoming spray paint, since, in case you didn't know, styrofoam melts if you spray paint it.

Sanded down the plaster to get rid of some of the super rough spots, and gave it a paint job. Also added a torch flame, made from a piece of wrapping paper/toilet paper roll.

Then made the robe out of a bed sheet.

And after all the time I put into my relationship with Lady Liberty, she wound up going home with some other guy after the game. I texted her once or twice since then, but never got more than a two word response. I hear their relationship is getting kind of rocky, though, maybe I'll have another chance with her down the road a bit.

Just a quick note about some props...

Fake drugs: Do not preassemble Kilos, packets, bags and drive to an event with them. If you get searched during a stop you at the minimum will be doing alot of explaining on the side of the road most likely in handcuffs and you will lose your props. Worst case you will be arrested and prosecuted depending on the mood of the local DA. Either way not a fun way to start a weekend.

Munitions: 9-11 ...Think about it....Again Cops/ Feds aint going to take a chance... Imagine seeing your toys detonated in place while the props are still in your car. The bomb squad will not be using modeling clay when they detonate it. Another hefty round of explaining to do because to save time you preassembled "Bombs".

Bottom line is use some common sense and ask yourself what would a state trooper say if they found this. Everything can be assembled at the event and may save you a life time of problems and a lifes saving in legal fees.

If you think I am BS'ing ask Wayne Dollack about his stop at the US/Canada border in route to a scenario he was producing up North.

Full arm/disarm capabilities, with adjustable countdown timer. Keylock keeps people from turning the device off to avoid detonation. The new model has a 4x4 keypad and 4 line LCD. 110db x 3 sirens to make sure detonation is heard from 1/4 mile away WITH terrain obstructions

Looks very professional, but I'd note that much of the stuff what we're encountering these days is just the reverse. Cell phones and keyless remotes being as detonators are as high tech as things get. That said I really like your work.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
Wait til you see our next projects Wireless devices (grenades, claymores, etc) that detonate and send a wireless signal to a personal pager-like receiver carried by each player. Data can be logged as to who was killed, what range, etc. Devices like claymores can be remote detonated from a significant range as well. Physical detonation (trip lines, motion sensing, etc.) will be incorporated to some of these devices.

Anyone ever made something that looks like the VX-loaded rockets from the movie "The Rock" ?

Also, I like the idea where you need to really focus when interacting with a prop. I.E: you need both hands to disable the "bomb" so you have to put your gun on the ground and get some cover !
