And I remember that one. I came back here looking for files, but now I've changed my sub so I get emails. This thread is the only thing I do here. It's fun to see what everyone else is coming up with.

Been a while since I've used autocad but I think when you save .dxf files you can save them to be suitable to previous versions.

The default format for 2011 is 2010, you shouldn't have any problems. Model aspects created with features new to 2011 may not translate properly in 2010, but it should open just fine.
Good news for the crazy Mac users - Autodesk is releasing AutoCad for OSX later this fall.

At least it gives us a definitive answer the next time someone comes in here wondering what they can use on the Mac that their parents bought them for school.

Nice. I recently built a new PC too but it's not as fast as I'd like.
AMD 955 3.2ghz x4 cpu, HD5770 1gb gfx, 4gb ddr3 ram, 650w psu.
Gets too hot though, I need a new case. :\

Good, cause I have 2011 on my computer and I went to hand in my first assignment today for my CAD class and my professor told me they're not compatible. I guess he doesnt know what he's talking about?

another reason CAD won't become popular on macs- they'd have to sell their magic mice for something with two buttons and a wheel.
also, you guys need to stop giving me reasons to want to try OC'ing my desktop. W7x64, Q6600@2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, blah, blah, blah. still does the job, but one of these days i'm going to give it a try.
