Let me know if you need any help or advise. I got the CMU team started a couple years ago. It's hard starting up, but totally worth it. Get a committed group of guys that want to play, and don't try to set it up all by yourself. Biggest lesson I learned.
p.s. CMU>WMU (had to do it)

I'll be there for the next 4 years at least. I'll play whenever we have too. And I've been running my team over here for the past 3 years, so I'm more than willing to help out with anything that's needs to be done.
Let's get this team started!!

Agunsling3r... a good contact that could help you out with some information would be Don schooley. He was the captain of WMU's team back when i played in 05-06. His email is donaldschooley@yahoo.com and his phone number is 7348180131. If you do contact him just tell him that Chuck told you to get ahold of him. We tried our hardest to get any type of help from the school with no success but maybe things have changed and you guys could get something going. Feel free to pm me also with any Q's. Good luck

is there anything in the works in the sense of everything that comes with paintball?
I know you said once a solid turnout but you have got to have something in the works before so when the turn out does come by you will have something to encourage/pull players in.

i guarantee there isn't going to be any "backing" until you have a set team with player profiles and what not. Somebody isn't going to be willing to sponsor a team that MIGHT have enough guys that MIGHT show up to play here and there. you need to be dedicated and willing to help out teams / stores. I'm speaking from experience here... and back when we had a team at WMU Michigan wasn't going through the horrific economic downfall that occurred and PB stores were actually open and willing to help local ballers out.
My advice... Have some meetings and once you have a dedicated number of players that are willing to play every weekend with "the team" start networking with businesses / people you know. Show them you are willing to represent them. Another thing you can try is going to the university and talk to people that are involved with "clubs" at WMU. Find out what they did to get help.
I know everybody wants to get a good sponsorship but you need to have a good solid backing with commitment before that's going to happen.

don't worry about sponsorships or anything. just come out and play, then when the universities/stores know we're going to be a serious team, they'll help.
this is the problem with people. they'll all about jumping on if they have names and logos to put on their jersey, but they're hesitant to just go out and actually play the sport we love with a good group of guys. just play
