I definitely agree with Chunk that it's an easier diet. I wouldn't say lazy person diet, or say that you're not in tune with your body if you're on it. It's a quick, easy cut which is why so many people try it. I can't work out that much anyways so this diet's pretty perfect for me right now. Once i'm better and in the gym everyday there's not really any way I can see this diet cutting it. I'm feelin weak in the gym as it is and I can only do upper body stuff. I'm still making gains, but much slower than i would be normally.

Also, no way in hell is this **** healthier than a balanced diet. Personally I'm trying to cut about 30 pounds total (down 19 right now), and then start a clean bulk and balanced nutrition.

I'll agree that it's a diet, but it can be made into a lifestyle, as there are many who have done it. It's good for what it is, which is weight loss. And there are methods to bulk on it too, they've been documented.

I work out every day, lift 3 days a week and do cardio for at least 4, usually more. Before this week, I installed air conditioning during the day, which is as physical as any job someone my age could do. It was also incredibly ****ty so I'm glad I'm done with it. I never had the issues many do on keto, especially regarding energy loss. I just attributed it to me being a strapping young lad

Jlausen, good for you, you don have any side effect, personally, I experienced every single one of them. And when I talk about people being extremly active I mean people who exert them selves for a living. Anyone doing prolonged cardio, or heavy lifting will have a rough time on this diet. For example, the op stands in a hot kicten cooking all day, where as i sell and move plants. Im doing cardio and heavy lifting for 6-8 hours a day, then going to the gym to lift.. The diet is not meant for someone such as myself. Desk jockey's, people who spend maybe an hour or two a day working our, wont notice how it effect them, but someone who really, really is intuned with their body, and uses it often will realize there are better methods to achieve the same end goal.

Im not saying keto is a bad diet, or truly that unhealthy, but it is a diet, not a life style, and thats whats inherently wrong and needs the most drastic change. Also op, i never said you were lazy, simply that the diet is intended for lazy people who want to find a simple diet to answer their weight loss goals. We know what a good proper diet is, now you just need to make the effort to live by it, and even more of an effort to bust your *** in the gym. Keto is getting the same hype Atkins did back in the late/early 90/00's...

I agree that it is a diet, and I'm not planning on keeping keto as a life style. I'm using it as a form of cutting and plan on a balanced diet to slowly bulk after I drop this weight. I also agree that bb.com is a biased source but a lot of the articles and such are a great read and make a lot of sense. I do think that keto can be made into a lifestyle but I have no desire to keep that lifestyle. so far I haven't seen any side affects and it really really is working with my work schedule and I think I'm going to stick with it until I get to 190-200lbs.

so I am still doing great so far.

Just had a protein shake, I've been using water for awhile for my shakes but I picked up some half and half from the store and I will not be going back to water while on keto. half and half is awesome haha, no carbs and mixes just like milk.

EDIT**

what kinda shoes do you guys use for lifting?

Had an awesome day today, ate really well and got to a new hole in my belt. Great feeling for sure.

My plan is to have a carb up meal on monday night. then back to minimal carbs. I hope to have my new measurements up by tomorrow morning.

how is everyone else doing on their diets/cuts?

also, any recommendations for shoes in the gym?

Something with a solid sole is best. They make weighlifting shoes but if you have a pair of Chuck Taylors or something, that's what a lot of people lift in. It helps if it has a heel too but I don't think that's a big deal for most people.

Been doing really well on my diet. been eating good and still getting good results so i'm happy.

My place of employment has messed up my paycheck for this pay period though, so I get two at one time next payday. Its both good and bad, I need money now but it will be nice to have a lump sum at one time too.

Just use heavy whipping cream instead That'll make for one rich protein shake.

When I was doing keto, I used whipping cream. Added some peanut butter and ice and it was delicious.

How many shakes are you having a day? Because I'm sure your protein has some carbs in it also so be carefull. Plus how many carbs a day are you having? Try this 2 scoops protein one tb spoon almond butter 6 net carbs feels you up for atleast two hours.

I'm hitting right at 30g of carbs a day. I almost always use 2 scoops of protein powder and everything seems to be going fine right now. Usually only have one shake a day.

The HWC actually was a joke, but adding some other liquids or solids into the equation could make it a possibility, as Hawke suggested.

HWC was a savior to me for getting my calories and fat. I even whipped it into my scrambled eggs in the morning.
