im saying this now, i was torn between posting this on the auto or this thread, i chose this one for some reason.

anyways.

i have a 5ph briggs and stratton go-kart that a few friends and i found in a neighbor's backyard. we tuned the thing up so that it would run fine but now we're having engine issues.

when we set the engine to choke to start it, it starts and runs fine but when we flip the lever from choke to "run" the engine quits.

i know the symptoms seem vague but we're new to go-karts and we really dont know what to look for in terms of clues to what is going wrong.

i think that when we put the engine in "run" the air to fuel ratio in the engine goes too high so it just stalls... but i doubt im right.

any advice is greatly appreciated.

youre actually right.

turn the jet on the carb in and out until you can at least get it to idle correctly. i would recommend turning it in before out, being that the engine is probably getting too much fuel
