no dont wait for her. But keep her around. You would only have known her for what... 2 weeks before she goes off to school. Definitely not enough time to bond in preparation for a long distance relationship. Believe me, they take their toll emotionally. I think you are best off keeping yourself in a positive light in her eyes, and not trying to push the relationship too much. I know a relationship is what you want, but you dont want a long distance relationship.

You did seem extremely closed off in the opening part of the convo. I'm going to guess texting? **** gets lost in translation, next time text her and then call her. Don't carry out real conversations over texts, ever. Texting is a means to setup a call, setup a date, or confirm a date/time.
Keyword, "Anyways", I'd try to avoid that word, especially when texting, at all costs. It comes off as "Ignore what I just said, heres what I really mean..." which was followed by your "I'm going to the gym, I'll talk to you tomorrow" aka "I don't want to talk to you right now, go away". Which is probably why she ended up turning the way she did.
Regardless, I would ditch. She seems pretty unstable, emotionally, and sounds like a lot of drama. Although, from my standpoint and the way I work, she sounds like an easy ****. You could definitely BS some interest in her and get her to ****, very early on too.
My Life:
So, the girl I'm interested in and have been talking to for the past month and a half or so, I really opened up to her last night in a drunken state. Not opened up to her in the sense that I poured out my feelings for her, but I told her stuff about me my rents don't even know. I just feel extremely comfortable with being able to tell her anything, and trust her with that information. Well, her boyfriend came home for a week before his deployment, and hes super clingly/possessive which means I probably won't hear/talk to her until the end of next week, which I don't really mind because I think I need the space from her to get a better perspective of our "relationship".
Found out that the girl I made out with last night in the parking lot has a son. Done with that, haha. Although, when she left the bar I told her to text me when she got home so I know she made it safely, which she did. Then in my drunken stupor, I asked her to send a pic so I could remember her the next day, very smooth I know. Well, I woke up about 30 minutes ago and checked my phone and she had sent me a pic, very fine. If I can figure out how to send pics from my phone, I'll post..
Tonight, I went out with a bunch of old buddies from high school after soccer practice. There were about 8-9 of us, none of whom I really ever talk(ed) to. I thought it was going to be a tad bit awkward since I never talked to them too much, other than when I had to between classes or in class. But I didn't want to say no, in order to show them how much I've changed. Got to Bdubs and I was pretty much the life of the group. I carried/started most of the conversations, I made jokes and made everyone laugh and I really just opened people up. When I initially got there, there were 3 guys at the table and they weren't saying ****. I was like, wow this is boring, lets be the new me and make this night fun. Needless to say, after the 3 girls and one other guy got there, I had a good night. Didn't make any moves on the girls, they were all ugly, but friend's of the guys. It was a pretty successful night I'd say.

That's the very first thing I noticed. I agree with bubble. You put absolutely no effort into resolving whatever conflict (you left that part out) at beginning of the conversation. An example? See how many times you two said bye or attempted to blow each other off in bold. What was the point of that? Either end the conversation or attempt to resolve whatever the issue was.
And as obvious as it should be, bubble is spot on with no text messaging more serious things like this. The emotion, tone, etc. are all missing from text messages and it is way to easy to take it out of context create misinterpretations.
