Tank Sizes

Hey guys I am interested in purchasing my first HPA tank. I usually use a 16oz co2 and its size/length is perfect for me so I would like something comparable. I am looking at 45/4500,49/4500,50/4500 and 68/4500. Also if I do decide to get one of the unusual sizes will I be able to find a tank cover for it?

Also I am a little concerned with safety issues, who makes the safest tank?

All tanks have to meet DOT standards and the regs have to be up to ASTM standards. There is no 'safest' tank really in that regard but reliability is another issue in terms of performance.
Anything with a dual burst disc, high and low pressure, is what you should get if safety is a big thing. It will have two brass nuts on the side of the regulator, those are the burst discs.

Which tanks are the most reliable?I don't really feel comfortable working with something as dangerous as an air system. So something that is really reliable or something I can send in and get worked on for free if something gos wrong would be nice.

Well, 'free' really depends on the work that has to be done. Most regs can be user serviced these days with the purchase of a rebuild kit.
Ninja, Crossfire, and Macdev are my personal top choices. Ninja and Crossfire has really great service along with performance. Macdev tanks are hidden gems in my eyes, don't see many of them around at all but they perform so well.

I am currently looking at the ninja 68/45 with ultralite reg for 160$ or the crossfire ss 68/45 for 130$. Why is the ninja 30$ more? Also which one is shorter in length. Also what is the best tank cover?

I believe the Ninja is going to be smaller, if it's the 68/4500 I'm thinking of it's only about an inch longer then they're 45/4500; it's insanely small. Also, it's the ultralite reg which is more expensive then the regular ninja. As far as the crossfire, perhaps a combination of the UL Ninja reg and the fact Crossfire now makes their tank cylinders in house so they don't have to pay an outside company.
And tank covers, that's up to you. If you get a ninja tank, just get a ninja cover from them all in one shot. Otherwise just look around, I usually buy an older version tank cover from websites that didn't sell the previous year or two models, saves some money.
