Basically the Alias front block allows you to use any LPR that would be used on a Bob Long Intimidator. That list is pretty large. At the top of the list is the AKA SCMIII. I'm sure everyone would agree it is the best LPR on the market without question. That LPR is stable as stone and requires little if any upkeep.
The other advantage you pointed out is the lack of the LPR return line to feed the solenoid. I learned that lesson this week. My dust olive NME's return line had a very slight tear in it near the block's barb, and it turned into a large leak. It's one less thing to go wrong.
The only disadvantage of the front block swap is losing the very sexy look of the NME front block. For a black marker, it's worth the sacrifice. On my olive one, I just can't bring myself to do it.
The upgraded parts honestly make it far easier to maintain. The Eclipse on/off is world's better than the stock NME on/off, the CP HPR recharges faster and outputs more consistently than the stock HPR, and the LPR is as explained.
I've had no problems using the Orange bolt, and it not only adds to the awesome look, it drops a good bit of weight. All told the gun is noticeably lighter than my all-stock olive NME and has been way more reliable.
FYI, I'll be putting in detents because that is the only problem with the gun. The detents are shot and are being replaced.
I will be offering the dust olive for sale once it is working flawlessly. Until it is I'm not comfortable offering it up. I got shafted by another PBN member on that deal and I refuse to screw people like I've been screwed.
