totally custom "Sniper" marker

OK, well, I didn't design the grip and stock, but I did make everything else by hand. Its AMAZINGLY accurate. After adjusting the sight, I hit a 1 gallon jug at 70 yards eight times in a row (outdoors, no wind).

Specs:
All aluminum
8 shot cylinder
Fires standard rnds, First Strike, and Sniper fins
Ultra low pressure - 280FPS at 65psi
Super consistant - 8 shot Chrono readings 279, 279, 280, 279, 279, 280, 278, 279
Flip door to load more rnds quickly
Auto rotation of the cylinder after every shot
Folding stock
Picatinny rail
Custom Suppressing barrel
CO2 or HPA (I'm using a 3.5oz CO2 because its the smallest talk I could find.

I have to tweak a couple parts but should have a video made in a couple weeks...

Great work.

I've always wanted to build something like this. That's a great little device you have there.

Any details on the internals?

The internals are fully custom made. Can't really get into them as of yet... But should be able to discuss later when I get the videos.

Sniper fins?

Don't forget to add in Sabot rounds which - by the by are incredibly accurate for a standard paintball wrapped in wadding.

Don't know how much. I machined this myself. Took about 80 hours. Let me run a couple games and see how the seals and all perform. No trades....got an ION..

Do want, looks sick... You should get it totally custom and make your own stock too. That one just seems to stick out like a sore thumb.

building markers to your own specs is always commendable.

This looks good. I like it.

That's way too much time for any reasonable production. 8hours/day * 10 days... yeouch.

Easier to modify an existing platform?

I agree. But there were some reworks and adjustments. I could probably machine it in 40 hours. But that would put the marker in the $1500 price range. No as cheap as I'd like. Having a machine shop do it would be almost as expensive as me doing it. And sending it to china to copy would force me to have to buy 100 of each part... plus have a lot up front in tooling charges....

Such a shame that good products are invented, but no real way to get them to the market without really high risk...

Sounds like a design problem.

What do you mean??

That the design is so complex that is takes 40 hours to make the parts for it?? Currently there are 16 parts that have to be machined and anno'ed. That's 2.5 hours per part. Now take into account, setting up the machine, changing tools, aligning the stock, etc. If you look at other markers, that pretty standard for the number of parts needed to make a reliable marker. Its possible to simplify the design to be more manufacturing friendly, but that would only reduce the number of parts to 13 or 14. It would still take a long time to machine by hand.

If you have any suggestions.....I'm all ears. I'd love to be able to offer these, but just can't see a way without a $1500 price tag...

No, that's pretty much the reality of things. The problem with outsourcing too is that there is little to no Q/A for a small company who cannot afford to have someone oversee the operation and make sure the output is satisfactory.
