As for your question - get a Pentax K-x. It's the best bang-for-the-buck entry level DSLR out there. It's perfect for beginners in photography, and can be had for very cheap considering Pentax is sort of the underdog. The lenses are also universal on all Pentax cameras, so you have access to their whole lens library. And image stabilization is built into the cam, so lenses end up being considerably cheaper too. It's loaded with features, and is more than sufficient for an entry to intermediate level photographer.

By the time you outgrow it, you can switch to one of the medium-high end Nikons or Canons. In my opinion that is really the place where the big brands shine, not in the low end. In low end market you're paying primarily for name by going with them.

I think I'm going to go with the Rebel XS kit on ebay to start...then upgrade lenses from there.

lol, I'm selling my Marq 7 as well but I haven't touched it since I bought it and have no air to test it with. I probably should air it up to make sure it works (although I'm not sure why it wouldn't) but it's at least a 30 minute drive to get somewhere to get nitrogen

I'll probably sell my paintball stuff soon too, even though I'm on the college team. It just costs too much. I'd rather have a better car than play paintball.

Put a new ricer lip on the whip to hide a nasty crack i got in the bumper from hitting some kind of small animal.
