08 Indy Help

Ok so I just picked up an 08 indy with a "blown" solenoid, will the solenoid on the website fix this problem? I also need new eyes again will the ones on the site work for this?

If some of the 08's had a mac noid, some had the SMC noid. You have to determine which one you have.

black=mac
grey=SMC

Don't always assume your noid is blow. Usually if it clicks it'll work. If it doesn't click, it may be a wiring issue.

Give us more details and we can help you out.

ok well i am a complete noob when it comes to alien, so the solenoid is mostly gray with a t front so i am assuming its smc... but i can even get the thing to click, when i turn the gun on i get a white light and idk what that means... there are no eyes so that might have something to do with it, i just want to know what i do to turn the eyes off so i could air it up and see what happens

Ya he'll fix you up on site if possible or at least take the gun home with him and ship it back to you.

You need to hold the button down a second to turn eyes off.

ok so i did that and aired it up and it was all leaky but that turned out to be the reg and asa... I swapped that with my shorty and a normal dovetail and it aired up and held the pressure but the bolt didnt go forward... I played around with the lpr and got it to work but i dont think the lpr is tuned right. So now the question is what is a good pressure for the hpr and about how tight should the screw in the lpr screw... also is there a manual that has the the colors for the led and how to program? Thanks guys I think i am finally getting the hang of this

You should probably be able to run your LPR about two threads in from flush. In is down, out is up. You might have to go up or down a hair for best results with your gun but that's a good start point for a nice smooth gun. Start with your HPR at 0 then raise it up to your needed velocity. If you start with it too high you'll throw the balance off. Just like any poppet gun.

You can download the 09/10i manuals. They have the same boards. Or go to alienog.com and find the 08 manual there. They should have it. Some of the 08 guns are pretty touchy but once you get the bugs worked out it'll shoot nice.

Turn is way down until the bolt pressur is vey low - can push forward easily with you pinky finger, the turn the screw out until it hard to push forward - with pre '09's it shold be too firm to push with your pinky finger.
Adjust to where the gun is consistant and doesn't have shootdown. I recommedn starting with the dwell turned up a couple of miliseconds then after you get it shooting correctly turn the dwell low enough that neither the LPR or Inline has to change to keep consistancy and not have dropoff. Iy you really want to maximise efficiency then you can turn the dwell downto where the consistancy over the chrono just starts to jump around and then turn the LPR up.
