11/24/10- The IPR Kit is Ready!!!
So I've been working on making a nice and clean ipr(internal pressure retention) for my shocker. The design is the same as my ipr mod walkthrough but the piston is machined out of delrin and valve seat is also fully machined and completely rebuildable. Let me know what you think. Also feel free to PM me if you have interest here.
Specs-
-Works in any shocker SFT or NXT
-completely eliminates pressure loss in the solenoid insert tube - increasing consistancy
-95% drop in, only requiring the user to make a super simple cut with scissors and glue on a bumper.
-totally user rebuildable with common orings already found in the shocker manifold. (1x3mm and 1x2.5mm orings)
-step by step installation instructions with life size pictures, making it so easy to install anyone can do it.
-allows the user to safely DOUBLE the flow to the solenoid, leading to rediculously consistant cycles.
*
-will come with all orings and tools needed to install, including 4 free magnets for those of you who like to tinker (you supply scissors and glue)
*please note, in order to double the flow to the solenoid the body must be drilled out, but this is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, and is not required to get benifits from the ipr. I will supply detailed instructions on how and where to drill, but if you dont feel comfortable doing this cs900 or any machinist can very easily do it for you.

The valve seat uses 1x3 mm (solenoid insert) orings around the outside and a 1x2.5 mm (center manifold oring) on the face, so rebuilding the ipr will be very easy.
This is what the IPR Kit will look like once installed in your gun. The clear straw represents the left insert tube.

Here is the first video of a shocker shooting 22+ bps consistantly with the ipr installed.
The gun in the video has had the body drilled.

***Back story- Theory of IPR***
Here is a quick diagram of what the IPR does.
Shocker(sft or nxt) - No IPR installed

Before the shot both chambers have equal pressure.

After the shot both chambers have dropped below regular operating pressure

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shocker(sft or nxt) - IPR installed

Before the shot both chambers have equal pressure.

After the shot the firing chamber pressure drops but the ipr maintains the correct operating pressure in the solenoid chamber. This more consistant pressure being being maintained in the solenoid chamber allows the gun to be more accurate at high rates of fire, eliminating drop off and shot fluctuations.
