new reg for a shocker
hey all
I am looking at getting a new reg for my shocker. I am running a dye hyper 2 at the moment and its working but I want something better. I know everyone is going to say CP but I don't really like them and I am leaning towards a palmers stabilizer but I am not sure if the stock setting of 0 to 700 psi will work well with my shocker.
Any thoughts

hyper 2 should be sufficient.
only upgrades from that are a stabilizer or a 2liter. but why spend the money when the hyper 2 works?
and 0-700 psi will work.

you really won't see a big difference, if any, if you swap out the hyper 2 for something else

AKA 2Liter
AKA Sidewinder
Eclipse Ego Reg 08 or newer
McDev Gladiator from Droid or newer
AKA's are best in performance, eclipse and McDev are the same range but in my opinion really flow with the look of the shocker.

Well, as far as I know, the 2liter is the fastest recharging reg besides the nxt reg or maybe the hyper 2/3
but as stated above, you won't notice a huge difference when you compare both regs (if both if them are broken in that is), except for maybe better consistency at high rates of fire.

AKA sidewinder and Dye hyper 2 are the same thing. Also, that Stabalizer doesnt have a swivel, so whereever the air fitting lands, you're stuck with it.
Fwiw, when I have some extra money, Im going to replace my hyper 2 with a hyper 3 because it looks purdy and is comfortable/

basically I would get a reg that is easy to maintain. Almost all high end regs will be very similar in performance.

If you want a reg that is easy to maintain, go get a Sidewinder.
I´ve not opened mine for the last 2 years and it still gives me +-5fps at the chrono.

Broadly speaking, there are only two major regulator designs used in paintball, pin valve controlled regs, or gas through piston regs, so if you split the different regulators in to those two groups, a lot of regs in each group will be very similar to each other.

I talked to the kid yesterday and its a no go anyway lol. The only thing I don't like about the hyper 2 is its a little short for my hands and its hard to open and service. I have had it for w few months now and I still have not been able to open it up
