I feel important!!

Nick Skaar still NVP, The Family, ect.ect. I'm not dead yet.

Tim Patti (SOBs) good friend, we hang out nearly every weekend.
Ryan and Robbin Brockner NVP, Shocktech Factory, Brimstone smoke (Robbin),The Family (Robbin) Still hang out w/ Robbin, Ryan is in St.Louis.

Tristan Brown NVP, Brimstone smoke, Aftershock, now w/ Trek
Roger Beichler NVP, Centerflag Factory, taught most of the people above how to play, we still hang out.

Adam Gebert NVP auxiliary, One of the funniest guys to ever ref paintball.
Everyone knows that goofy f.....we still hang out.
Eric Fieldhouse The guy was playing when you needed gas to wash the paint
off. I have a ton of respect for that guy.
Josh Turbin NVP, The Family, He's a designer for Dye now.

Ryan Williams was from Tomah, super cool guy.

As far as teams, NVP and the SOBs probably traveled more, played more, and won more then any other wi teams.

Theres some Wisconsin paintball history for ya. I'm in contact w/ all but Williams, and Fieldhouse.

Great Idea Ben, good to see you here!

The SOBs won the World Cup, and the series that year (99' maybe, don't remember) NVP has 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in NPPL events, Won the first Am. Hyperball tourney at Badlandz, and won every local series that came around. I could go on and on.....

Most of this happened before Boom was a team. Not arguing, just thought the thread was more about "old school" players/teams.

I think this thread would be good for newer players who dont know the history or influencial people in the industry over the years but should also keep current pros and owners up to date as they are most relevant today...

Kind of sad to be the first person to bring this up but Dan Hurda-BFG Paintball. love it or hate it, BFG really changed the Tournament paintball scene in Wisconsin about 7 1/2 years ago(RIP) when they opened. yes there was a good tournament scene but it just blew up when BFG opened.....plus ALOT of really good players got their start at BFG. just to name a couple Mike Unger and Chris Deible now on Boom.....there is MANY MANY more, but i have been up for way to long!! lol

Also another closed down field that helped a bit with the wisconsin tourny scene Jeff Hahn - Ambush Ally, West Bend.....also they had one of(if not the first) Pro clinic back in like '04 when they brought in Mapp Chhim and Matty Marshall. those were great times!!!

There's even ulterior motives involved. Something coming up...

I'm a bit slack in updating the first thread at the moment, since my internet at home is on the fritz and I'm stuck updating a lot of things from WiFi hotspots.

I would add Ron Fieldhack. Anybody that played tournaments or at paintball Sam's back in the 90's would know Ron. Ron Passed away several years ago. He was one of the pioneers of paintball. Played with the SOB's in the very early years and was a Airgun Designs Tech. He was always at Paintball Sam's and had everything to fix your mag. It was always free just like at tournaments. He was also at every major tournament workng as a tech for Airgun Designs.
Tom Kaye of Airgun Dsigns would be another guy. He was from IL. but he did most of his testing at Paintball Sam's and sponsered the SOB's who were one of teams to test new parts and guns. Paintball Sam's is where he tested out prototype mags and nitrogen/compressed air. All you young guys have him to thank for compressed air being a industry standard and it started in WI at Paintball Sam's.

I remember Tracy. I didn't know him that well but I played with him when the SOB's were short a couple of guys for 10 man at IAO in Pittsburgh one year. I played 2 days of 5 man in the hot humid weather and then 2 more days of 10man in it. I was crawling up the tape and he was back covering me. All I had to do was yell where a guy was and Tracy shot the guy out in seconds.

Mike from Stalkers definitely needs to be mentioned. His tournaments were definitely a strong part of our teams' development and continuing to play tournaments. I think his field spawned a lot of tournament teams in the early to mid 2000's.

He built some of the strongest tournament play in the state. Also, his late business partner Diane was a big part of it.

BTW, thanks for this thread.

Mod edit - adjusted for name. Mike's the man at Stalker.
