T8 vs T8.1 vs T9.1 Magazines

Are the magazines different or all the same?

T8 mags will not work in the T8.1 or T9.1. T8 mags are round paintball only, while T8.1 and T9.1 is First Strike and paintball compatible.

You can get T8 mags to work on the T8.1, but dremel work would be involved.

Currently trying to join or create a scenario team in Del Rio. Apparently there might be a field coming to Laughlin AFB, so this may be more realistic than I thought before. PM if interested.

Also, I'm a total gun whore.

You might need to join the Tiberius forums to see the photos. I just used a curved file myself instead of the dremel. I've done 4 of 6 mags now and they all happily work in a T9.1.

Yes. The modification is only needed for the T8.1 and T9.1 because the .1s use a thicker outer diameter barrel. T8s and T9s with the FS kit use a barrel with the same outer diameter as the original barrels.

FYI: The size change was due to a new style of ball detent in the .1s

quick question- if I buy a new barrel for a T9 with a conversion kit, do I NEED a "First Strike Ready" barrel or can I get away with using one that is just.. regular?

If you want to use first strike rounds you need a first strike ready barrel.

I'd recommend not saving $10 between a non-FS and FS barrel. It will likely impact your ability to sell it far more than $10.

Really?

Ok. How's this...

Yes. You need a First Strike Ready Barrel to shoot first strike paintballs.

Without a First Strike Ready barrel you will only be able to shoot regular paintballs.
