MicroSD problems

I'm having some problems with my MicroSD card that I use on my cell phone.

What's basically happening is....Up until about yesterday or so this 2gb PNY microSD card was working perfectly on my cell phone. Then out of the blue it keeps giving me this:

"Memory Card Error: The inserted card cannot be read. Please use another card."

That is the message it gives me on my cell phone. When I connect my cell phone to my computer (With the microsd in the cell phone) I still cannot access the files and a pop-up comes up saying I need to format my microsd card...Which is fine and all but when I hit the format button, 5 seconds later another pop-up shows saying it cannot format the card...

Anyone know whats up here?

Edit: If it helps, I'm using the old Sidekick LX.

You sure though?

When I stick the MicroSD into the regular SD card (adapter) and put it into the computer, it's able to read the contents just fine...(This is on my laptop though as my desktop doesnt have an SD card slot).

Take the opportunity to get the data off the card.

Then buy a new one.

Save all data and reformat the card with the computer then phone. Then you can tell if it is actually the card.

I actually tried this...When I had the microSD card in the adapter and then in the computer, I copied all the files, then formatted the card. (It did format that time). Then when I stuck the MicroSD back into my phone it was still saying the same error that it couldnt read it.

T-mobile Sidekick LX (The old one by sharp). I guess it could be the phone but it was reading the microsd card just fine for months and now it's doing this.

Try a known working card in the phone.
