I don't know if any of you have realized that the Cape has everything that the USPL needs.

The USPL is planning on running about 100 to 120 teams an event. The Cape has more than enough parking to suit that. There is plenty of space for staging and vendors because there is only going to be 4 fields in use at max. As for turf, nets, and the fields don't get started because USPL provides it. Also there are at least 2 hotels withing walking distance and many other hotels within a 10-15 min drive.

Just something everyone should think about, and not shove it under the rug.

What about an airport? That I think is kinda key cause Bostons airport isn't too far.

There would be a drive to any event location, there isnt any way that it would be held IN boston. Just like maynard, or brocton fairgrounds, there would be a drive. To the cape from Logan, its about an hour. That dosent really seem like too much of a drive for players who are serious enough to fly to an event

I don't know that they are anticipating 110-120 teams for the regional events. For the national, AFTER the first registration deadline, only 49 teams have paid. Yes, 108 are registered this moment, but even if i credit 100% payment for d1 and d2 and a little over 50% for d3 of the unpaid teams, you're at 84 paid teams for the national. just something to think about.

Turf? Not trying to be a dick, but I'm pretty sure the USPL wants to use a top-notch playing surface at their venues. Either nice grass, or turf.

Though, they did buy all the turf that the NPPL had...

Brockton Fairgrounds I think is one of the best bets. It seems like a fairly easy place to have it, also they're are stands already there. Plenty of space also.

I'm not familiar though with many places that could be a contender for it.

I think people should start there, make a list of all the possible places that it could be held at and than you decide on the easiest/cheapest.

On the Cape note, I love the field, but the drive is something else.
Not trying to be a nay-say-er here, but that time of year has enough tourists and traffic problems.
I hate going over that bridge in summer, and I have family down there.

Yeah, keep in mind there is going to people going to the field just for the trade shows and stuff. Not only dedicated players but people who are on the edge of wanting to go, like they'll go to have fun but if it's the littlest hassle they won't show.

Not by any circumstances am i suggesting that USPL should be played on the sand field or the grass we have.

as to the number of teams, 100-120 is what i have heard is the max amount that the USPL is expecting, that being said, at the maximum amount of teams, the cape could handle it, having less teams would just make it easier.

remember back in the day, there were NEPL events that held up to 93 teams in one day, and there was no limits to how many cars you could bring, this event being split into 3 days could easily handle whatever amount of teams come.

it was a great spot, but way to big for the USPL right now. Think the Cape in the summer.. Maybe even book a hotel now.

Yeah, I don't think i would do that just yet. I just don't want anyone thinking that we are not still working together with the USPL concerning this event. There may or may not be some changes in information and since this event does fall on an NEPL date - we are working especially close to make sure everything works out for the teams in the end. I promise - as soon as anything is set in stone - an official announcement will be made.

Thank you
lori

The sagamore bridge (one of the two car bridges that cross the canal) is being worked on for the next year and will be cut down to one lane each way making it even harder.

Damn, I saw this thread and didn't notice the 2009 and started looking around to see when the NPPL was coming to Boston to see if we could fit it into the schedule.
