Apex questions

How well does an Apex tip handle rates of fire in the range of 25bps? Does it still get the backspin required to shoot at longer distances? Do the rubber flappers wear out faster?

Not sure about 25, but I ran mine on my Darq the other day without any problems, and have seen them run on Egos and such at high rates of fire. The backspin still works, and haven't seen any sort of additional wear from it yet.

should be fine. my buddy was running his bt with an ape board at 20bps for a couple games to "test it out" and everything was fine. i have a couple of knicks in the rubber ramp on mine but it is about three years old. nothing that interferes with the shots tho.

I have heard the rubber flapper would run out quicker. Also, more of a chance of getting a break and if do, to clean it than wait to end of play for day due to chip shells could chip and damage flapper also.

I don't see why that would be the case.

100 balls fired at 25 bps and 100 balls fired at 1 bps will exhibit the same amount of wear. When using a 25 bps ROF, the only thing that changes is the delay between shots. Your paintballs are not leaving the barrel any faster, or hitting the ramp any harder, so each shot would have the same amount of force, producing the same amount of wear. Same thing for breaks, nothing changes about how the paintball is fired, so why would there be more breaks in the Apex?

That being said, if you're shooting 25 bps, you're going through a heck of a lot more paint than the average person. So it may SEEM like you're having more breaks and wear because you're shooting 4 games worth of paint in 1.
