The rule I've heard is put a ball in the barrel, and if it goes into the barrel but doesn't go though, go down one size and use that.

In some situations, "squeezing" all the light from around a ball may cause your bore to be too small, but I haven't seen that personally yet.
Best thing I'd recommend is close to this.

Load the ball in the bore (ie; freak insert, TechT back, barrel back, etc) The ball should be able to almost sit on top without sliding through. Put the bore to your mouth and blow the ball through. If it goes through smoothly (without rolling itself out) then you have the right bore size, if you have to take multiple breaths to blow it out, then its to tight.

Being able to blow a ball through the bore is called 'bore matching'... basically the barrel is just about the same size as the paint.

You have three options in barrel bore size:

- Overboring (ball rolls out of the barrel)
- Bore Matching (can barely blow a paintball through)
- Underboring (barrel too small to blow a paintball through)

There are lots of 'old school advice' and 'conventional wisdom' but there have been real tests done now. Those tests show.

- Overboring good consistency in velocity and bad efficiency
- Bore matching gives bad consistency and reasonable efficiency
- Underboring gives good consistency and good efficiency

It was also found that accuracy was the SAME across all of these, in other words your barrel bore doesn't impact accuracy much if at all. Finally, you do not increase barrel breaks until you've underbored by 0.008" or more, then you may have issues.

If paint is round and consistently sized, matched or a touch smaller than matched works great. If the paint is inconsistently size or out of round I generally match then go up a size.

Works great but in all reality if you are anywhere near the proper size it will work just fine.

So you have used Every barrel system on the market?
I doubt it.. since you have not used every single barrel then you can not accurately say that REDZ makes the best barrel system.

I like my Evil Pipe Kit I have .689 .686 and .692 backs..
