XBall Rundown?

So I watched my first XBall match over the weekend and I had several questions that I thought could be answered quickly. You get 12 minutes of actual play time and the the most flag hangs wins. So how many points is a flag hang worth? How long is the interval between the end of one game and the start of another? What were all the horns going off for? I'm thinking they were designating a certain time? One squad plays then comes off and a different squad plays and they rotate like that? How many time outs do you get per match? The pit crew and players who aren't playing are in the staging area filling pods and cleaning gear? Anything I missed that is fundamental of the game type? All my tournament experience is in 7 man NPPL rules so XBall is new to me. Thanks for the help.

I think Xball is now Race2 it basically you play a point a team hangs the flag which is one point and then you head to the pits for 2 minutes and the horns are the start of the point. Yeah your team can rotate squads after every point but its not required. Yeah the non playing players and pit crew usually fill pods or take a break in the players case.

So do you get a certain amount of time to play race to 2 then?

Xball- set time limit (usually 50 minutes, like it was at the pro level). One flag hang gives one point. Teams often have at least 2 lines of 5 players so that players can play every other point, although it was typical to see star players double/triple/quadruple shifting leaving lower level players only playing a few points to relieve them. At the end of each point 2 minutes is given to the teams to refill air, paint, get a strategy together, wipe off hits etc. Most teams, especially at a high level would have a pit crew to help them with these tasks, as well as one or more coach to prepare them for the next point. All of this takes place in the "pit" which is like any other staging area, except it is attached to the field through a net door. Als, rather than remove extra players to serve a penalty (Ex 1for1, 2for1), the referees send the infringing player to the penalty box for an allotted amount of time, and also take one other team mate off. There are minors for unobvious hits, and small things like that, and majors for obvious cheating, misconduct on the field, etc. When a penalty expires, the player may leave the penalty box and rejoin the game in progress. Communication from players, coaches, and fans is allowed. Basically the only people not allowed to talk are eliminated players.

Race2 (Race to *insert number here*) is similar to that, but puts a cap on the amount of points that can be scored. At the pro level, it is a race to 7 with a 25 minute time limit on the game. The game ends when a team reaches 7, or when time expires. Another slight tweak to Race2 format is that minor penalties are null once the other team scores a point, similar to in hockey. Ex. Team 1 recieves a penalty but win the point anyways- Their player stays in the box until the penalty time expires OR the other team scores a point. Team 1 recieves a penalty and in turn loses the point- The minor penalty ends immediately and the player may return to his pit.

Hope that helps!

ok so time limit depends on what division
the (big horn) sounds the start of a point or that the point is over
the other sound you might hear would be one of the teams conseding a point
most ofthe time it's 2minutes between points
most teams have 2 lines they go between and 1 "KILL" line which is your best players for when you need to win a point
you win a point by hanging the flag
and depending on the division mean what it's a race to

as for pit crew

you have a pit coach who is a side line coach and calls position and is in command of the lines and everything
one or two pod fillers/ pod *****es
and a snake side coach

So a typical XBall team has a dedicated coach that is not a player and only coaches? I take it this person would organize practices, decide rosters, etc...?
