First Strike affected by barrel length?

I'm basically wondering if barrel length matters shooting FS (We've all seen the video of the T4 400+ feet). I ask because I'm throwing a MP7 kit on my 8.1 and using only magzines w/ 12 grams and FS and want to know if I need a longer FS barrel.

You don't need a longer barrel for the rounds to work but I don't know if the 8.1 barrel is long enough to clear the shroud on the MP7 kit, since the kit was designed for the original T8 and includes an extended barrel. The barrel it comes with can't be used with FS though since the feed port is not cut for FS rounds.

really barrel length is going to affect any projectile to a degree. A little longer barrel is going to allow the round to start rifling itself more before it leaves the barrel so you will have a little more stable round when it leaves the barrel. How much difference will you have between the 8.1 barrel and a full length t9 barrel? I honestly couldn't tell you exactly but i doubt it will be extremely significant for the distances you are probably shooting at (with a MP7 kit i assume you are more trying to run and gun than snipe from way back).

I actually plan to zero in a red dot and keep the gun and kit w only one mag of first strike on my back, adding that dimension to the game. I saw a T4 shoot 400+ feet with a FS round, but I doubt my 8.1 with stock barrel will do that.

Again, if in the future I did spring for a lapco FS barrel, 9" or 16"??
I'd prefer 9", but not if there's an accuracy difference. If it's just efficiency, (Assuming they are unported) I'm not concerned.

The thing is, with a bullet, the rifling is in the barrel and actually engages with the copper/lead of the projectile to produce a high-speed spin with energy from the gas behind it. With an FS round its more like a finned sabot than a bullet, or a shotgun slug round. So I'm not sure if a longer/shorter barrel is actually going to do much to its range provided that you are attaining field maximum velocity at the muzzle. Either way, even with a pistol-length barrel you will be outranging regular paintball guns significantly.

The rifling action of the fs round occurs mostly after it leaves the barrel. So length of the will not contribute to accuracy.
