My mom always supported me in what ever I did.
Honestly all through high school I played (and I guess I was addicted
) to World of Warcraft. Yes I spent all day playing video games like a loser, but my mom liked knowing that I was playing video games with my friends and wasn't out doing drugs.
On the other side, my grandparents don't like that I play at all because its "violent because you shoot at people" and its "expensive". That I should be playing something else like an instrument or a sport that is more respectable. Like I should be playing the piano/guitar/soccer/tennis/golf something that will still be useful (I suppose?) in 20 years or that could get me a college scholarship.
Lastly like people said... if your parents know you are spending your money on paintball you are staying fit (or at least doing phsyical activities) and won't be doing drugs.
I remember in an interview with Ken Bryson of Palm Beach Vipers he mentioned how parents would thank him because of paintball their lives has changed because they do that and have fun and aren't doing what they were before which was most likely going to land them in jail. Note that while typing this paragraph I walked away so I forgot what I was kinda gonna say lol
