dm's the best for brittle paint?

Are the dms the most gentile gun on paint? I recently used a dm5 with 2 year old paint and the gun shot great. The paint wasn't even circular! My poppits couldn't shoot the stuff at all. Should I pick up a dm9/10 if not breaking paint is my top concern? Does the luxe/droid/geo shoot as gentle?

imo it would be between a dm and a droid. luxes and geos are still harder on paint compared to dm's and droids.

the team in general: sl66, alias, 07 ego, victory, g3, closer, droid, etc....... the dm seemed to be the only gun that didnt break anything.

the alias, if properly tuned, isnt that hard on paint.

Their LPR is probably way to high.
Ego's (pre ego 10) are pretty tough on paint.

DM's are generally gentle on the paint.
I've never owned a droid, but seeing how its a single reg, its my assumption that it has a lower dwell and then cycles faster, which can cause breaks. But just an assumption.

G3's are just inherently tough on paint. High (relatively) firing pressure and high cycle speed and pressure.

Marqs (Victory+Closer) ive heard where a bit tough on paint as well. Only briefly had a 6 so cant really say.

DM's are generally known to be very good with brittle paint, but saying its the best? That can vary from gun to gun. But DM's can be tuned to be very gentle on the paint. (Low LPR/HPR, higher dwell)

Marqs are very gentle on paint. Angels are also, so are legends and droids.

So are shockers if they are tuned right and even ions

I would say Droid/ Clone is the most gentle on paint...it's the only marker I've ever seen that I can put my finger in the breach and actually allow the bolt to accelerate into my finger without any pain....with every other marker I have to keep my finger right up against the bolt face.

I hope that makes sense to you guys...

I want to start off by saying I absolutely love matrices. I've owned and shot almost all the markers out there and have always come back to one matrix or another. That being said there's a lot that goes into whether a marker will shoot soup or not. I know the PM5-8s are not "DM's", I'm sorry they shoot at and op of 185psi instead of 145psi, but they use the same bolt and function the exact same. So with that being said maybe you'll remember a few years back to the PSP Texas Open 2006. All the matrices were shooting soup.

I'm only saying this to point out that there's a lot more going into whether a whole make of marker shoots better/more brittle paint than others.

I currently shoot a matrix.

However, I would say that ALL of my egos have been gentler on paint than any of my matrices.

Honestly, there isn't much of a difference from high end to high end. Ive shot crazy brittle paint out of all sorts of guns. the same paint that was blowing up in my gun, shot great in others, and vice versa. Same batch paint on the same day, on the same models of guns. personal settings, bolt type, loader type and settings, and weather ALL play a part in whether or not your gun can put out paint. and EVERYONES paint was blowing up in Texas. Didn't matter what you shot. Too humid and too cold
